The dates for this years camp are July 25 to 29 at Lakewood Retreat Center. It is going to be awesome in every way, especially if you come! Lots of great things to do at camp including some of the things that make every camp great! Things like: Great worship times, Bible teaching, campfires, hayrides, and all kinds of sports. Plus swimming, archery, crafts, human foosball and more! This years theme is RUN THE RACE and we are going to have some new things plus all the other great things we normally do at Cross Street Youth Camp! Come ready to grow closer to God! Come ready be encouraged, challenged and changed! Come ready to have great times with your old friends and new friends! * The cost of this years camp is $205. The merging of Algebra 2 and Geometry begins in this course with the continued development of functions and their context within the real number system. Using geometric modeling, this course covers roughly 2/3 of the traditional Geometry course and 1/3 of the traditional Algebra 2 course. Students use the graphing calculator and The Geometers Sketchpad software. Week 5 Would you like your child to learn how to express themselves mathematically? This week is designed to help children ages 4 through 12 to see mathematics as an activity that can be described through the use of language. Technology, engineering challenges, digital investigations, and manual calculations are combined and designed to immerse campers in the grand challenges of making everyday life easier. Explore the Civil War with author, historian and former Gettysburg National Park Ranger, Jeff Evans. Throughout the course of the week we will experience Civil War drill, clothing, equipment and even food. Campers receive their own Civil War enlistment and discharge papers and even muster for pay. The Battles of Antietam and Gettysburg will be used to examine the world of Civil War battle. The role of local units will be closely examined. Your Commander will lead your squad on training missions where you will learn to move with stealth and approach the enemy without detection. You will use camouflage face paint and clothing to become invisible in the trees. When your training is complete, you will prepare for the ultimate test; taking on your counselors in a full counterstrike operation! There will still be plenty of time for other traditional camp activities including swimming, Catan ball, campfires and Bible Exploration!!
