Fossils . . . Molding . . . Casting . . . OH MY! If you are into paleontology enough to work in the field alongside professors and graduate students, and roll up your sleeves as you prep, collect, mold, and cast fossils for examination in the lab, then this camp is for you! The resources of the brand-new state-of-the-art James E. Martin Paleontology Research Laboratory makes offering this unique camp possible. You will live on campus and, literally, walk the path of paleontologists in the Black Hills and Badlands. The curriculum is designed and taught by full-time engineering and science faculty members. Senior-level students and graduate students will live and work with you all week. You will discuss science and engineering careers with School of Mines faculty members and alumni, and visit work sites where you might use your expertise should you decide to take your studies further. NEW for this year- campers will spend more time in the field hunting fossils, including an overnight trip to the badlands. Your discoveries could wind up in the School of Mines Geology Museum with your name on it!
