Summer Hoops Basketball Camp - Sport Center
This camp is for children in grades 1st-3rd who are looking to learn to dribble, shoot and pass to a team mate. Class is taught by PE Teacher Laura Wehrman. AGE CATEGORY Youth (6yr+) LOCATION SC Basketball Court #2 at Sport Center SC Basketball Court #1 at Sport Center
Urban Trail Bike Camp - Kids on Bikes Community Center
This fun and safety focused urban trail riding camp offers kids the opportunity to explore local trails that connect our city. Base camp will start at the Kids on Bikes community bike center, which allows connection by trail onto Shooks Run, Greenway Trail, and Midland Trail. Each day, participants will ride to a new location by utilizing bike trails and some neighborhood streets. The goal is to ride to a new destination each day such as to the library, Garden of the Gods Visitor Center, Velodrome, Popcycle Bridge, Pulpit Rock and more. The focus of this camp is on cycling safety, trail etiquette, bicycle commuting as transportation and basic bike maintenance skills like changing flats and solving gear problems. Please bring a sack lunch, a backpack, water bottle and a jacket. To prepare for camp, please make sure your child is comfortable on dirt with two wheels before registering for this program and would be comfortable riding 8-10 miles (sounds like a lot but we take a lot of breaks!). 7193553573.0

Instructor: John Leddy "Summertime fun begins at Spartan Quest, (formerly known as Sports Camp). This class will run for all 10 weeks of summer school giving your camper a consistent, exciting summer daycamp experience. We will spend the mornings doing fun things on campus like; playing games, flying kites, dodge ball, hide-n-seek, flag football, basketball, video games, etc…. We also will build our own fun when we build things like; bow and arrows from PVC pipe, marshmallow shooters, mini-golf-courses, obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, and anything else we can think of! In the afternoon we continue our fun off campus at places like; Tanganyika, ice skating, roller skating, Lazerquest, Watson Park, mini-golf, All-Star Adventures, Water Center, Bug Lady and many more too numerous to mention. This class is designed for students entering 2nd to 8thgrades who are looking for unlimited fun and adventure. Beginning and intermediate students work together to learn and improve the basics of rock and pop instruments to prepare songs for a performance. Three sessions are offered each school year (Fall, Winter, Spring) 10 classes, plus a performance event. Performance details to be announced. This camp is designed to help advanced players polish up their individual skills while learning to execute team strategies for winning rallies, games and matches. Following some initial review for individual skills the majority of the camp sessions will be dedicated to competitive drills and scrimmages. Instruction will be geared towards maximizing each individuals skills to maximize a teams opportunities for success utilizing drills and tactics that help Texas A&M win the SEC Championship. This camp is intended for experienced players with strong individual skills and understanding of the game. This camp is limited to players entering grades 9-12. Players must only click the "Join a Group" option, even if you will be attending as an individual player. If you are attending as an individual, select the Individual group option. If you are attending with a team, find your teams name on the list, and enter the password your coach provided.
