The Shubert Summer Theater & Arts Camp is a program for rising middle-school students (5th-8th grade as of fall 2016) who want to explore interests, potential, and opportunities in the arts. The camp offers students a chance to take in-depth classes in dance, music, theater, visual arts, and creative writing while in an arts rich environment. The camp is open to both New Haven and non-New Haven residents. Located at adjacent Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School, the Shubert Summer Theater & Arts Camp is situated in the heart of downtown New Haven, surrounded by theaters, galleries, and museums. In addition to an arts atmosphere, the camp is staffed by a combination of professional artists, teaching artists, and emerging student teaching assistants from Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School. Campers may either sign up for the Theater & Arts Camp, which allows them choose classes in music, theater, creative writing, dance and visual arts, or sign up for the Musical Theater Camp , which offers a curriculum of singing, acting, and theater-related activities. Lower School Drama Club - Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School
The Drama Club will work under the direction of Lil Buds Artistic Director/Co-Founder Jeff Predmore. Mr. Predmore is a professional actor and Director here in Chicago. The students in the Drama Club will work as an ensemble to stage a selected scripted play. The play will be determined based on class size. The students will learn all aspects of putting on a theatrical production, from character creation, staging, choreography and vocal production. The session will end with a final performance for invited family and friends. We will be presenting and adaptation of little mermaid for our final performance. Week 3- Ultimate Power Kids Warrior Ninja Acrobatics and Gymnastics Camp - Stanford
Open to any and all entrants, this camp is designed for anyone wanting to experience a week of Warrior Ninja Acrobatics Training! Each day will feature a different theme, teaching aspects of Parkour, Ninja Warrior training, Circus, Acrobatics and Gymnastics. Participants will focus their training primarily on both Warrior Ninja Skills (parkour and acrobatics) and Gymnastics (tumbling and apparatus work). Participants will be grouped depending upon age and current level of training. This fun filled half day camp is perfect for adventurous kids who love to run, jump, flip, climb and fly! Junior Day Camp - Camp Waubanong
Our Junior Camp program is for children ages 7-11 who wish to attend camp, but are not sure whether or not they feel ready to stay overnight. Junior Campers will arrive with day campers on the first Monday morning of the session, and should bring supplies to set up their own bunk (sleeping bag, toothbrush, a few changes of clothes, swim gear, towels), whether or not they will stay the night. Junior Campers will follow the same daily schedule as the Traditional Overnight Camp, with the exception that they will have a block of time following afternoon snack to decide whether or not they would like to stay the night, and time to communicate with their families or guardians about their decision. Families are charged on a per-night basis, so campers are welcome to stay as many or as few nights as they would like. These campers will have a bunk set up in a regular cabin group, so that the transition is seamless for them, should they decide to stay over. We ask that campers reach a final decision for that day by 3:30pm, so that we can plan for evening activities and breakfast, and families are clear about... (802) 490-5550
