This is our History 2 week. This week we will be moving around the Bay Area taking daily field trips while using public transportation to navigate our way. The week will be comprised of the schedule below*. Day 1: Fort Point/City Hall Day 2: Wells Fargo Museum/Cable Car Museum Day 3: SF Dungeon/Wax museum and Boudin Bread Factory Tour Day 4: Angel Island/US Immigration Station/China Town back alley tour Day 5: USS Pampanito/ SS Jeremiah OBrien (Days may not be in the specific order above) We meet at Rockridge BART station every morning at 8 AM then travel the city to our destination or destinations. We return to Rockridge BART at 4PM for pickup or post camp day care. *Note: UAC will follow the schedule posted unless issues arise, in which case we will make any and all substitutions equal to the current schedule. 510-339-0676

UNH Outdoor Jobs and Summer Camp Fair 2016 - Durham, NH
Want to work outside this summer? Are you an outdoor program looking for potential employees? Come to the University of New Hampshire's annual Outdoor Jobs and Camp Fair Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Granite State Room of the Memorial Union Building at UNH. More than 40 employers representing non-profit outdoor and environmental agencies, commercial outfitters, summer camps and international travel companies will attend this year's fair to recruit summer and full-time employees. Some representatives conduct on-the-spot interviews. The fair, which is free for job seekers and open to the public, attracts more than 400 students and others from diverse academic fields, including outdoor education, nursing, natural resources, recreation management, theatre arts, business, and equine sciences. What is it about wax that appeals to our senses of touch, taste, sight and smell? Beeswax. Paraffin. Soy wax. Gel wax. In this camp you will learn how to work with wax as a creative medium that is as versatile as clay or metal. You will also explore how wax is made and how the very different chemical and physical properties influence what it is best used for! Campers will create their own candles, practice wax resist techniques and will even learn the age-old craft of encaustic painting (using melted wax as paint).
