My son is going to be a senior this upcoming year and this past summer, he wanted to go to ASM Materials, Metallurgy, and Forensics Engineering Institute in Rapid City, SD. We reluctantly sent him, but were amazed at all the wonderful things he learned and did while he was there. He had hands-on learning in an educational environment about materials, metals, building and engineering. It was as if he has gone away for a semester of college. Teen Horse Day Camp - Stewart, TN
Legend Acres summer camp sessions give horse loving boys and girls the opportunity to spend plenty of time with these wonderful animals. Campers are divided into groups, based on their ability, to provide riders with activities appropriate to their skill levels. In addition, campers take part in the daily grooming, tacking up and care of the horse or pony assigned to them. Campers also participate in activities that promote good horsemanship as well as arts and crafts , snacks and lunch included. We offer three summer camp programs, based on age. The first program is our Kiddie Camp, which is a wonderful experience for children ages 4-7. The camp runs for three consecutive days from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and is $375.00 for the week. Youth Camp, for ages 8 -11 runs for three consecutive days from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm and is $375.00 per week. We look forward to seeing you at camp!! Is your teen bored already? Sign him/her up for our week long beginning sewing boot camp running Monday through Friday, July 19 through 22 from 10 am to 2 pm daily. They will learn basic hand sewing techniques by hand making their own pin cushion and then graduate to sewing a pillowcase, pajama pants a skirt and other cool stuff., including getting to participate in a community project. You will need to bring your own sewing machine if you have one, and basic sewing supplies. A list of fabrics and notions will be sent to you once you have registered. Cost is $100. CAMP DETAILS Animals Week Love animals? Then this camp is for you! We will play lots of fun drama games in which students will act out and tame their favorite animals. Students will sing songs, act out animal themed poems and stories as well as create art projects. Its a jungle in there! Children spending the full day with us should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break at the park Dragons, Monsters and Creepy Creatures We will incorporate our theme of dragons, monsters and creepy creatures into many of our fun drama games. This course will teach students the basics of the history of robotics, along with key components of robots and how they developed over time. Following completion of short web research work, students will work in teams to learn to build robots, to program them and to use various sensors to make them "smart." As students progress, using Lego Mindstorm EV3 kits, they will learn to create more "sophisticated" robots that can do things the simpler ones cannot. Students will be graded on their knowledge of robot history and their components, as well as on their ability to complete specific exercises with the robots. This "hands-on "course is not only fun, but is a great learning experience!
