Grades: K - 12th This weeks theme "Water Olympics Week" Parents, is your child ready to have fun and make new friends this summer? If yes, then bring your child to the coolest hot spot in town. The Lacey Park Day Camp is full of fun activities for children grades K thru 6th. This is an outdoor recreation camp. Campers will learn about the benefits of being physically active; as well as, having a healthy lifestyle in the outdoors. Each week campers will engage in various group games, art projects, participate in a talent show and weekly field trips to the Hanford Teen Center, Hanford Plunge and the local Library. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. A weekly food menu will be provided at request. If your child has a particular taste, you may consider bringing a sack lunch for your child. The park in the summer is hot, please send your child to the park with a bottle of water and sunscreen. Staff will provide an igloo of cold water for refills. Please have your campers wear comfortable play clothes and tennis shoes. Campers will go to the Hanford Teen Center...

The Founders and Evolution of Summer Resorts & Kids Camps - Readfield,
Four years ago Charles L. Day and Dale Potter-Clark began the process of gathering information for "Founders and Evolution of Summer Resorts..." right here at a Maranacook Community Education class. Fifty or more enthusiastic people gathered that evening to share stories and to learn about the resorts, hotels and kids’ camps that have existed in this immediate area. After years of conducting personal interviews, making site visits and doing exhaustive research Charles and Dale have published a 356 page book packed with 220+ vintage photos and information about more than forty establishments that have existed on the four lakes. Thrown in for good measure is “The Larches” on “Lake Myra” in Readfield. Included is the history of the railroad, steamboats and the trolley in this area as well as the various establishments, founders and directors. Dale will first talk about the process and some discoveries made while researching and writing the book and following this she will do a reading. She will be available to sell and sign books after the presentation. Potter-Clark will be offering three classes the spring of 2017 (Mar, Apr, May) at $12.50 each or $30 for all three. Proceeds will help fund a "Museum in the Streets" in Readfield.

Summer Camp @ La Pintoresca Group A (6-7) - La Pintoresca Park
Neighborhood Park Camp at La Pintoresca Park is a traditional, high-quality camp that is fun and affordable. Activities include arts and crafts, physical fitness games and challenges, dance, visits to the library, enrichment activities and swimming. Campers play basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball. Instruction is also offered in golf and tennis. Campers are escorted to Robinson Park Recreation Centers swimming pool for recreational swim two times per week. Staff go into the water with the campers and certified lifeguards are always present. Fun field trips are often the highlight of the week. Trips are an additional charge and are scheduled for once a week. This camp is a good fit for active campers who like sports and group activities. The ratio of staff to campers is 1 to 10. Campers are grouped by age, and lunch and a snack are provided. Camp culminates in the annual ?War Games? in which Washington Park Camp and La Pintoresca Park Camps compete in a series of challenges to determine an annual camp champion. Campers are asked to wear sturdy, closed-toe athletic shoes, sunscreen and hats. On swimming days, campers are asked to bring sandals for the pool area and swimming suits. ...
Girls Volleyball - Sanford Day Camp
This year Delaware Volleyball Association will be running our volleyball program. DVA is known throughout the tri-state region for developing players who go on to succeed in their high school and college careers. Some DVA alumni will be on the US Olympic team this year. Players will be taught the fundamentals of serving, passing, setting and spiking. Teamwork around the net will be emphasized. Players can expect a good workout every day. ---------- LOCATION: Sanford School. Please drop your child off at the Sports Center at 8:45 a.m. Pick up will be in the same location at 3:15. ---------- WHAT TO BRING: Light-weight, loose fitting shirts, shorts, socks and sneakers. Knee pads and jump rope are also required. Water Bottle Bathing suit and towel for free swim in the afternoon. Lunch, unless purchasing from Camp. ($35.00/per week) A drink will be provided for all by the Camp. Join Blake varsity soccer coach Lindsay Youngdahl for a preseason prep camp to help you gear up for the upcoming fall soccer season! This camp, like the Blake soccer teams, will emphasize teamwork, leadership, hard work and good sportsmanship. Activities will include large group warm-ups, individual skill development and small group competitions. Bring a soccer ball, shin guards, water and sunscreen.
