Join us for fun, engaging topics that explore economic and mathematics concepts to understand the world of finance and beyond. Investigate concepts such as supply, demand, scarcity and opportunity cost. Students will learn through interactive games and test their trading acumen by playing simulated rounds on the U.S. stock market using real stocks (but fake money!). CAMP DETAILS Fractured Fairy Tales Week In our Fractured Fairytale world, students will learn how to adapt traditional fairytales using unexpected characterization, modified points of view and bizarre plot development. Working as an ensemble well then dramatize our new fractured fairy tale using music and movement. Working alongside one of our professional teaching artists students will also play fun theater games and learn how to develop characters for the stage. This camp aims to cultivate creativity and give participants experience of creating their very own theater piece. Children spending the full day with us should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break at the park Musical Theater Week Thank you for the music! In this camp, students will have fun exploring their own personal voices through songs and dances from various musicals! In addition to drama and improv games that foster theater skills in creativity, self-expression and teamwork, campers will create their own show that incorporates songs from their favorite musicals. 1st-5th Grade Program : Headed to the White House - The Philadelphia School
We will visit the National Constitution Center for a special, opening day tour of the traveling exhibit, Headed to the White House. The new exhibit is designed to take visitors from the campaign trail to Inauguration Day, as it explores all aspects of a U.S. presidential election through a variety of media including role-playing opportunities, artifact exploration and more. The multi-faceted experience gives visitors both the opportunity to learn about past candidates in iconic historical elections and to also become a candidate themselves in a simulated presidential election experience. A tasty, mid-morning snack will be served. Upon our return to TPS, students will have the opportunity to design their own campaign button. Please pack a lunch (including a beverage) in a disposable bag. For the safety of our students, please DO NOT INCLUDE PEANUT BUTTER or any nuts in your childs lunch. Students are required to wear a red t-shirt on all trips.
