Positive Life Change
Although they mentioned "life changing" on their mission statement I though that was just advertising. It turns out this truly was a life changing summer for our daughter. She was also a sweet girl a little on the shy side. But this summer she seemed to blossom. She came home confident and eager to participate in activities at our church. Send a Kid to Camp Phone Bank - undefined, undefined
Greetings, friends! We want you to be a part of the Fox 61 “Send a Kid to Camp” Phone Bank, benefiting Hartford’s Camp Courant. The Phone Bank will air live from Fox 61 and WCCT (CW) on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 beginning from 9a.m. to 10a.m. and then returning from 4p.m. to 7p.m. Your support of this campaign will help Hartford’s Camp Courant and Fox 61 further their missions to support education-based programs for children throughout the greater Hartford community. Our goal is to raise $100,000 during the live four-hour televised fundraiser, which will help to enhance the summer experience for nearly 1,000 Hartford children this year. We have a long standing, aligned and focused partnership with Fox 61 who is dedicated to making a positive difference. Everything they do in the community will link directly to their mission of HOPE (Helping Organizations Promote Education) where they will focus their resources to maximize impact. FOX 61 builds bridges between Connecticut companies, nonprofit organizations, citizens and leaders to cultivate collaborative partnerships to inform, educate and inspire their viewers. Free Summer Horse Day Camp for Kids, Week 8 of 9 - Lacomb, OR
This is not your typical day camp! Kids learn how to get big jobs done and earn big rewards through our framework of barn, garden, and community activities. Our mixture of work, learning, and play develops character, leadership, and real-world skills. Kids start the morning cleaning stalls and doing other jobs, then have a well-supervised fellowship lunch, then ride or do other horse activities in the afternoon. For the kids that are interested in doing other things doing the horsemanship time, we have interesting building or maintenance projects as well as gardening. Sometimes we have someone come share an aspect of their career, or we will go on a field trip to a business, and sometimes we need to go pick up hay or other donations as part of the camp day. Toward the end of the day as parents arrive, we usually do a short devotion that gives kids the chance to tell how they illustrated a positive characteristic that day. Parents and kids should attend a 90-minute tour and orientation prior to enrolling, you just call us and schedule a time. Yoga knows no age boundaries. It has benefits for the older and younger alike. Just B Yoga provides a quality yoga program for children that benefits the body and the mind. The camp is taught by Belinda Thurston and Monica Pino. Our classes teach children body awareness and positive self image while finding healthy movement exercises. Children will learn yoga asana (poses), pranayama (breath exercises), dharana and dhyana (focus and meditation). Rustler Ranch Teen Camp - Pierpont, OH
Teen Camp at Rustler Ranch 6th-12th Grade July 13-15 9:30am - 2:00pm $35.00 per teen per day OR $100 for 3 days!! Come out and enjoy the fun at Rustler Ranch! Your teen will learn safety around horses, grooming, daily care of horses, saddling, horse language, how to work with a horse on the ground, riding skills, maneuvering obstacles, and much more. They will then put these skills learned into practice by caring for their assigned horse daily while at camp. Each teen will receive one on one time with their assigned horse and instructor. They will learn through class time and hands on time. Each teen will be evaluated and taught to their current level of riding, beginners to advanced will learn new skills to aid each of them.  We ask that each teen wear long pants and shoes with a heal for riding. We also ask that each teen bring along with them a packed lunch each day; fridge and microwave available.
