Animal Trainer/Zoo Keeper Camp (In Depth) July 13th & July 27th 9am – 4pm $95 Ages 11+ Led by one of our animal keepers, this in-depth experience is for the older students who are serious about learning about animal husbandry and medical care of animals. Space is limited for this course as students will get to tour around the facility and learn specific information and needs of our animal collection. Students will get to not only encounter animals in our behind the scenes animal room, but to assist with animal care, food prep, cleaning. The camp will get to put together an animal enclosure for one of our animals by working together as a team. Students learn to train an animal and even make an enrichment toy for our animals. Kayak Fishing Camp - Week 5 - The Greenwell Foundation
Kayak Fishing Camp is for children ages 8 – 12 (by first day of camp session). This camp combines two of the favorite activities at camp – kayaking and fishing! The week begins with a lesson on the water learning kayaking skills with a certified instructor. The campers will then have two opportunities during the week to be on the water, combining these two skills – and hopefully catch some fish! With help from a member of the Maryland Saltwater Sport fishing Association (MSSA), campers will have on-land instruction learning how to tie lures, cast a line and what fish can be found in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Friday, the campers get to choose if they want to fish or go crabbing from the boat launch or fish from a kayak. In addition to all the fishing and kayaking, campers will also have the opportunity to do archery, field games, crafts and get wet with water games. Each afternoon, campers are provided an afternoon snack and each week a chance to make Smores. The week ends with Tye-Dye Friday for a take-home memory of the week at camp. The Details! By popular demand, Stanford Sports Medicine will be offering an advanced Sports Medicine Summer Camp this year for students with background in sports medicine. Come learn first hand from some of the best clinicians in the world. Students will learn the integration of cutting edge approaches to injury prevention, rehabilitation, and athletic performance. Located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, see firsthand how advanced technologies positively impact injury recovery and training. Recommended for high school students interested in sports medicine or a career in athletic training. Students should have experience in a sports medicine program, have attended the basic camp, or have attended the 2015 camp. Rules of the game and sportsmanship will be covered along with the proper way to warm up, cool down, and the practice to improve your game! In order to register for this activity, you must first click to open the participation waiver and then place your initials in the left box to confirm that you read and agree.
