MOUNTAIN BIKING 101 $250 Grades 6+ June 13-17 8:30AM-2:00PM Did you know that within a half mile of the Greensboro Day School campus is access to over 35 miles of the best municipal mountain bike trails in North Carolina!?! Looking to build on a successful first year at the 2015 GDS summer camp , we are back for even more fun for 2016 with two sessions available! [MTB 101 June 13-17 and MTB 201 July 25-29] For a full week, your child will get the opportunity to safely explore our amazing local Greensboro mountain bike trails while also learning basic mountain bike repair and maintenance. Instruction will be provided from highly experienced local bike shop mechanics combined with skills instruction and guided rides from certified International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) guides. This camp will split time between instruction, skills sessions and most importantly bike riding! All your child needs is a bike in good working condition with knobby tires and a helmet. Offensive Skills Camps Session I: Grades 8-12 - James A. Rhodes Arena
This session of our Offensive Skills Camp is for boys and girls entering grades 8th-12th. Each player will have detailed instruction, film analysis, shooting instruction, and Division I college basketball practice each day with an emphasis on offensive skills. Incoming 7th and 8th Graders will learn the basic usage and safety of some hand tools, power tools and machinery (routers, drill press, scroll saw, spindle sander, disc sander, palm sander, cordless drill, lathe). All activities will be demonstrated and supervised by Mr. Caris, the current Woodworking teacher at NBJH. Students will choose a project from a list based on their experience. The list will be sent home in the FIRST week of the course. Examples include a cutting board, wood bowl, routed sign, garden tray, gumball machine, and bag toss game. Each player will have detailed instruction, film analysis, shooting instruction, and Division I college basketball practice each day with an emphasis on offensive skills. Incoming 7th and 8th Graders will learn the basic usage and safety of some hand tools, power tools and machinery (routers, drill press, scroll saw, spindle sander, disc sander, palm sander, cordless drill, lathe). All activities will be demonstrated and supervised by Mr. Caris, the current Woodworking teacher at NBJH. Students will choose a project from a list based on their experience. The list will be sent home in the FIRST week of the course. Examples include a cutting board, wood bowl, routed sign, garden tray, gumball machine, and bag toss game. 11 sessions, 11 meals, and 4 nights. USA Partner Camp - up to 5% of our camp can be recommended to the USA Futures Program. Commuter campers will follow the same training schedule, checking in by 9:00am and checking out by 8:00pm daily. Mercer Bears Junior Day Soccer Camp - Macon - Mercer University
This camp is for all levels: beginners, intermediates and advanced players. Each camper will be placed in a group of similar ability, and age. Beginners will be playing soccer in just a few days; intermediates will improve all aspects of their game; and advanced players will sharpen their game to a competitive edge. Special emphasis will be placed on technique and skill development, while playing individual, small-sided and full sided games. Goalkeepers will receive specialized training. 4783014011.0
