All of the Whisk chefs and staff will be baking and contributing their time and costs to the cause. Whisk will also donate all profits from the sale to No Kids Hungry. A Cappella Ensemble - Wilmington Montessori School
for Wilmington Montessori Students & alumni grade 3 through grade 8 Wednesdays, 3:00-4:00 The art of a cappella is singing without any instruments, but rather, using your voices to make the background instrumental sounds and beats. This is usually done with pop or jazz songs. We will meet once a week and learn about three songs, one of which we will arrange together as a group. 10 weeks (3/9-5/18—no class 3/23) 302-475-0555
Act Out Loud! - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
Students will experience the process of creating a play from a simple idea to the performance on stage. They will get to pitch their ideas, help form and shape the storyline, write dialogue, create characters and perform for an audience. This unique class is ideal for any student interested in all the aspects of theatre. INSTRUCTOR JOHN WALDRON received his BFA in theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University. As an actor, director, and instructor, he has been working in the region for over 20 years. He has directed shows at Aldersgate and MVCCT. John can be seen in the motion picture Talk To Me starring Don Cheadle and was featured on Investigative Discovery show Who The Bleep!. Ever wonder what its like to work at a tech company? In this workshop, well look at the many aspects of what goes into building a product like Facebook or Twitter. Students will wear many hats, playing the role of product designers, developers, and customers. To top it all off, students will build their own application and gain a basic understanding of the Ruby programming language. This is a great introduction to programming for teens in grades 9-12.
