Farm Fun camp is a unique opportunity for campers to work with the livestock, gardens, and natural areas at Greenacres while exploring the science happening on the farm. The camp will also include plenty of games, exploration, and farm fresh treats. Past camp activities have included assisting with weighing cattle, testing soil, planting cover crops, making pickles, spending time with the sheep, and Brix testing vegetables. This camp is best suited to campers with an interest in exploring the science behind farming and gardening, who get excited about real farm work! Please wear sturdy close-toed shoes or boots. 4-H Teen Summit - Session 3 - Nancy, KY
Kentucky 4-H Teen Summit is held annually at the Kentucky 4-H Educational Center in Jabez, KY. The conference is for youth who are currently enrolled in 6th, 7th, or 8th grades. This program is designed to develop leadership, citizenship and communication skills in youth. While at the conference, all participants get to learn in fun and educational workshops taught by members of the Kentucky 4-H State Teen Council. The conference also includes motivational speakers that get young people excited about leadership. The cost to attend is $115 which includes meals, lodging, and transportation. Survivors Supporting Survivors TEEN SUPPORT GROUP This group is designed to offer an opportunity for the teens to talk about the struggles of a cancer diagnosis without becoming a counseling group. We set the table in a variety of way to help the healing process happen much faster. We guide them in real life challenges and allow them to discuss and support each other in ways you don’t see in normal life. Come prepared for an outdoor farm experience: dress weather-appropriate! It's gonna be jammed packed with exercises on great communication, problem solving skills and fun team building moments that bond these teens together. Speed & Agility Camp, Session 2 - Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy
Where: Wroubel Center, main gym, outdoor & sand courts About: Students who attend this camp will work on all aspects of conditioning, including but not limited to speed training, agility, quickness, and anaerobic conditioning. This camp incorporates sprint mechanics and footwork as it relates to various cone, ladder, band and sprint drills, first step quickness and lateral movements. Students will be exposed to different resisted movements as well as basic agility and plyometrics. Great for sports that need high levels of conditioning like Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, etc. By using some of these techniques, some of the 2015 football players lowered their 40-yd dash & pro-agility and increased their vertical jump. This will also help soccer with improving pre-season testing results and in-season conditioning. **Sign up for both speed & agility sessions and pay only $100. Discount will automatically load at checkout.** What to wear/bring: Athletic attire, shoes for indoor and outdoor, socks, water bottle, and a readiness to prepare for your upcoming season.
