Through fun, hands-on and engaging science, engineering, and design technology, students learn how the world works, how buildings stand up, how machines move, and how people design, make and use technology. Projects are different for fall, winter and spring sessions and do not repeat. Using a wide assortment of curriculum materials, including KNEX, Keva Planks, Lego WeDo Robotics, Snap Circuits, and hands-on building projects, students construct machines; program robots, build gadgets, gizmos, structures and vehicles, and assemble electronics such as a radio or flying saucer. Through these integrated STEAM projects, students gain problem-solving skills; develop spatial awareness and a basic understanding of physics, gravity, electricity, energy, design, and robotics.
