TAC Summer Camp: Surface Design: Ages 11+12 - Week 6 - Brooklyn Studio
Through daily exposure to textile media, campers explore new avenues of creativity, improve their dexterity, and make new friends while learning about historical and contemporary use of the fiber arts. In addition to structured class and craft time there is daily free play and outdoor time, weather permitting. Campers aged 11-12 visit TAC daily, for project-based classes inspired by their weekly field trip to a current textile related exhibition in New York. Capoiera THURS (grades 3-8) - University City Arts League
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance and music. It was created in Brazil mainly by descendants of African slaves with Brazilian native influences. It is known by quick and complex moves, using mainly power, speed, and leverage for leg sweeps. Students work on physical coordination, group awareness, and communication. Students are recommended ( but not required) to take both the Monday and Thursday classes to get the most out of this program. Java Programming Part II - The Digital Arts Experience
This course assumes basic knowledge of Java and applies it to the Processing environment. This allows students to use Java to express themselves in a more creative format with easy-to-use graphical capabilities. Students can choose to either make artistic projects with a narrative or an interactive game. This class will help grow the students understanding of Java, as well as how to incorporate new libraries and methods. It will challenge the students to be inventive with not only how to solve problems, but also with the creative direction of their projects.
