TEEN STRENGTH SUMMER CAMPS! ABOUT: Learn the fundamentals of Power Lifting, Olympic Lifting and Conditioning. CAMP DATES & TIMES: 5 camps offered during the summer @ Alamo 180 Studio! Pick your 2 week slot: Mon - Friday, 10am - 12p. #1: June 13 to June 24. #2: June 27 to July 8. #3: July 11 to July 22. #4: July 25 to Aug 5 #5: Aug 8 to Aug 19 Each camp is capped at 12 students. Minimum participants are 6. Ensures quality instruction and quality training. ABOUT THE COACHES: Each Teen Strength Camp is led by Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, Jeff Soileau, and Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, Mark Krana. Our expert coaches will guide each student through the movements. PREREQUISITES: No prior experience necessary. Open to all high school students - boys and girls, not just high school student athletes. INVESTMENT: Early Registration: 7 days prior to camp start date, $180. The Science and Art of Wax - Lyman Campus
Ages: Girls and Boys Entering Grades 7 - 10 Dates: July 5 - 8 Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Format: One-week session Location: Laurels Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights Tuition: $320/session From candles to cosmetics, colorful canvases to clothing, there are many wonderful ways we use wax to beautify and enrich our lives. What is it about wax that appeals to our senses of touch, taste, sight and smell? Beeswax. Paraffin. Soy wax. Gel wax. In this camp you will learn how to work with wax as a creative medium that is as versatile as clay or metal. You will also explore how wax is made and how the very different chemical and physical properties influence what it is best used for! Campers will create their own candles, practice wax resist techniques and will even learn the age-old craft of encaustic painting (using melted wax as paint). Intermediate students will learn capitalization, basic punctuation, and numbers. This course will help students with memorization of the keyboard while enhancing speed, accuracy and efficiency.
