Bring your young adult to Creve Coeur Camera for a fun filled experience and learn photography from the Pros. 3 SESSIONS - 3 Hours each FEBRUARY 11, 18 & 25 Week One We will cover the basics of photography; exploring Olympus camera settings, Exposure fundamentals of ISO, shutter speed and aperture, Focusing techniques and composition rules. Week Two Practical applications of what you learning in the first week. We will have photo “sets” in the classroom for you to practice and Explore shutter and aperture (f-stop) techniques as you learn about the “appropriate” lighting on your subject. Week Three Learn the basics of Adobe Lightroom; the photo editing software the Professionals use and how to enhance your images. AKA Diamond Sports week features daily instruction, plenty of hitting and fielding, games, including our coveted World Series Event, as well as a trip to see the Twins! Our staff is made of several high school and college baseball and softball players who are great at teaching their sport and who make Diamond Sports Week extremely fun. Featured Fieldtrip - Thursday, June 23 - Minnesota Twins vs. Philadelphia Phillies (first pitch 12:05pm) FYI - The actual day camp runs from 9am-4pm though kids are welcome to get dropped off as early as 7am and picked up as late as 6pm. Day Camp Assistant (DCA) Training is the first step in Tanadoonas leadership development program. DCAs spend the first half of the week engaging in teambuilding workshops and interactive leadership training with lead camp staff. Training includes first aid, behavior management, specialty programming and basic counselor skills. DCAs immediately apply their training when they are partnered with Tanadoona Counselors to assist with Day Camp groups during the second half of the week. Staying overnight on Thursday to help with the Thursday Overnight campers provides additional experiential learning. We recommend a minimum of two years of DCA before progressing to CIT. 612-235-7284
Cavalier Battalion Airsoft - 3 weeks - Airsoft @ The Heights
Experience airsoft Heights style! Acres of woods, forts, and airsoft battles: a recipe for a one of a kind camp experience. Each day the boys will be engaged in a different themed airsoft battle/game, while learning team building and leadership skills. At the start of camp the boys will be divided into brigades, these will be their brothers in arms for the remainder of the week. The brigades first challenge will be to take and pass a gun safety course, where the boys will learn how to properly and safely handle an airsoft weapon. After that the fun begins. The boys will be building their own fortifications that they will be defending each day. Battles will include: elimination, capture the flag, lone survivor among others. Each brigade will also compete in airsoft challenge games which include marksmanship, quick draw, target discernment, just to name a few. Throughout the week the boys will likewise learn about some of the greatest battles and military heroes of our time. Cost includes 5,000 rounds of ammunition. To bring: Airsoft weapon, safety goggles and mask. These can also be rented for the week. $75 for the weapon $20 for safety goggles and mask. Long sleeves... 301-365-4300

Make NO bones about it; this camp is for the aspiring "Young Physician". If your child enjoys checking out the cool gadgets and models in the Pediatricians office, sign them up! Campers learn that their bodies are miles of blood vessels, hundreds of muscles, many thousands of hairs, a furnace, a filter, AND a fancy computer! They perform hands-on experiments as they learn about brains, taste buds, blood, muscles and bones, check heart rates and listen to their lungs with their very own stethoscope. Campers will extract DNA and learn about genetics, test for germs, build spinal column, ear drum and lung models.
