Owner of Flower City Yoga and Art Therapist, Nora Doebrich will be hosting 3 very special Yoga Camps, this Summer. On Stage: Footlight Camp - Matilda - Takoma Park Community Center
In On Stage: Footlights, everyone shines! Our camp is designed to allow students the opportunity to dive into performance and design/construction aspects of theatre by working on an abridged production. This year, students will perform 2-3 musical numbers from the Broadway hit, Matilda , based on Roald Dahls beloved book. All songs will be performed as a group, and everyone will get a chance to be Matilda! Well start each day with physical, vocal, imagination & focus building warm-ups. Heres what well be doing: * creating & developing characters * learning music/songs * blocking/choreographing musical numbers * playing drama games * getting to know the theatre space and theatre terminology * set design and construction * working with props and costumes Our goal is to have every student on stage, every student engaged in the creative process, every student proud of their work. WEEKS OF DISCOVERY is an exciting vacation break program filled with age-appropriate activities for children in Grades PreK – 5th. The program takes full advantage of a gymnasium and rooftop playground as well as the closeness of Central Park. Throughout the week, children investigate themes incorporated into art, science, and nature activities and share their discoveries with each other. These themes are expanded in other activities, including sports, games, music, movement, storytelling, drama, and cooking. Under the supervision of experienced counselors, children also go on special outings and adventures. Although each child is part of a smaller peer group of similar ages, every child is also a member of the larger group. Scientists Explorers - Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Alabama
Scientist Explorers will engage in activities real scientists use to explore marine life and the ocean including research, microscopes, animal behaviors and anatomy. A field trip to the Alabama Marine Resources in Gulf Shores will take place on Thursday to tour the facility, which contains a fish hatchery with marine biologists.
