Richmond has some of the best urban mountain biking trails around! Join the staff of Virginia Outside for daily instruction, trail rides and lots of fun. Campers will develop beginner and intermediate mountain biking skills including: steering, shifting, hill climbing and descending, log hopping, dodging obstacles, etiquette, maintenance, safety and more. Campers will ride in the morning, have an activity such as tubing or snorkeling on the James River, then get back on the bikes in the afternoon. Join Shea Salyer and Jacob Lucero for this years 3rd-8th grade musical, Roald Dahls James and the Giant Peach, Jr. This musical world-premiered at Seattle Childrens Theater in 2013. Auditions for lead roles will be Wednesday, January 13th from 2:15pm-6:00pm with rehearsals beginning Tuesday, January 26th, 3:00-5:30pm. Rehearsals are every Tuesday and Thursday that school is in session with performances from May 4-7th, 2016. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion which results in a tremendous peach - and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family.
