A music band camp designed to allow five to seven year-olds a positive and powerful first experience with music making. Students get to explore all of the instruments, choose songs, and learn parts in a social, playful, fun setting guided by a skilled facilitator who seamlessly integrates learning with playing. Jr. Robotics Engineer - Goleta Presbyterian Church
Entry-level robotics and programming. Campers learn robotics using LEGO® Education WeDo™. Our young creators build snapping alligators, race cars, talking birds, and spinning robots, attach sensors and motors, and then program their creations with the WeDo visual drag-and-drop programming software. Counselors guide and encourage exploration and trial and error field-testing. Instead of simply "snapping bricks together," campers are encouraged to think critically about how their robot design can be changed and to understand more complicated engineering techniques such as gear use, pulleys, and inclined planes. Week #4: July 18-22: TiSci Super Sleuths Scientists in this class become crime fighting super sleuths by looking for clues, collecting evidence and taking into the lab to study. Well learn about blood typing, collect fibers to analyze with laser pens and turn off the lights to uncover clues hidden in secret messages. Staten Island Ferry trip & Historic Richmond Town Take a trip on one of the citys oldest attractions as we hop onto the Staten Island Ferry, then continue on to Historic Richmond Town to learn about seventeenth-century life and traditions. Kids will travel to South Ferry by MTA Subway, then board a private bus to historic Richmond Town, and come back by bus, ferry, and subway to PS 87.
