Students will learn the art of putting imagery in motion as they explore a variety of techniques, including traditional stop-animation, claymation, hand-drawn animation, digital film and computer graphics like titling and film effects. Our distribution point will be digital with an emphasis on showing completed stories to a collected audience of family and friends. Students are encouraged to explore creativity in storytelling with a variety of media, such as clay, photos, natural materials and groups of actors. We will work with equipment on hand, such as iPhones, iPads, digital cameras and laptops. Daily demos and exercises educate young storytellers in technique, theory and history of the motion media. Students benefit from access to accounts with social media such as Instagram, Flipagram, Vine, iMovie, Garage Band, Soundcloud, YouTube, Vimeo and more. Digital Photography - S2 - Plymouth Community Arts Council
All new projects! Beginning-Intermediate level photographers will learn to optimize the features of their own camera while learning basic to advanced composition, exposure, focus, lighting and printing photos. We will take action, still life and landscape photos, so dress for the weather. We will print final photos and showcase the best in our summer camp art show. Sewing - Sewing Camp - The Ranch
Sewing camp is a wonderful opportunity to learn a new skill that will last a lifetime! In this sewing camp, your child will learn a variety of hand-machine-sewing skills. They will learn to comfortably use the sewing machine and practice basic sewing stitches. We will make projects such as pillows, iPod holders, tote bags, aprons, draw string bags, book covers, water bottle holders and more. As a final project, campers will learn the art of quilting. We will provide all the colorful, beautiful fabrics, and the materials. On Friday, the campers will prepare snacks and lunch as part of their camp experience. Exploring Nature Camp - Churchill Park
Outdoor exploration and basics of ecology are the focus of this week. Well explore the woods, prairie and wet areas. Campers will roll logs looking for slugs and centipedes and learn why dark, damp places are important. Theyll wade in the water to net tadpoles and frogs - discovering that muddy and polluted water are different. Well crawl through the tall grasses to get a bugs eye view of the world. This is a hands-on, mind-on, and mud-on camp! A detailed letter will be sent prior to camp. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please be sure to bring a water bottle, snack, and apply sunscreen.
