Future Robot Creator - United Faith Christian Academy
Entry-level robotics and programming. Campers get a head start on simple robotics using LEGO® Education WeDo™ components and easy to use software. Our young creators will build models, attach sensors and motors, and configure behaviors using a simple programming tool. Counselors guide and encourage exploration and trial and error field-testing. Instead of simply snapping bricks together, campers are encouraged to think critically about how their robot design can be changed and to understand more complicated engineering techniques such as gear use, pulleys, and inclined planes. Robot models include a variety of animals, soccer players, amazing mechanisms, and adventure stories. When ready, campers move to advanced building and programming projects that include: a Racecar, Ferris wheel, and Carousel. As the week draws to a close, campers can utilize the skills they have learned to build an X-wing fighter or Marine helicopter. Young Physician - Goleta Presbyterian Church
Make NO bones about it; this camp is for the aspiring "Young Physician". If your child enjoys checking out the cool gadgets and models in the Pediatricians office, sign them up! Campers learn that their bodies are miles of blood vessels, hundreds of muscles, many thousands of hairs, a furnace, a filter, AND a fancy computer! They perform hands-on experiments as they learn about brains, taste buds, blood, muscles and bones, check heart rates and listen to their lungs with their very own stethoscope. Campers will extract DNA and learn about genetics, test for germs, build spinal column, ear drum and lung models. Grow Together Gardening Camp - Brookside Gardens
This parent/child camp will be as much fun for you as it will be for your child! Along with your child participate in story time, outdoor activities, garden planting, and crafts. Your children will discover the beauty of nature, how plants grow, and a hobby they can enjoy for a lifetime. You?ll also your plant a pollinator container garden to take home. Beginning Fishing Camp - Black Hill Visitor Center
Enjoy a week of fishing fun and adventure while learning how, when, and where to catch freshwater fish. Well fish Little Seneca Lake first to get some experience, and then travel to waters outside of the park for new challenges. Park naturalists will provide expert, hands-on instruction on balanced tackle, live bait, artificial lure selection, knots, casting, and the latest fishing techniques. Well send out an itinerary and equipment list prior to camp. The camp fee includes all bait and a well-equipped tackle pack with a variety of lures and hooks perfect for the beginning angler. K9 Training Camp - Humane Society of West Michigan
Sit, stay and come are just a few of the basic commands you will teach shelter dogs during this training camp. Learn basic and advanced obedience training while teaching shelter dogs basic cues. Trainers will practice positive reinforcement training and special skills. They will also perform further research in body language, behavior assessment and breed histories to create a long-term strategy for a shelter dog. 616-791-8066
