Although they mentioned "life changing" on their mission statement I though that was just advertising. It turns out this truly was a life changing summer for our daughter. She was also a sweet girl a little on the shy side. But this summer she seemed to blossom. She came home confident and eager to participate in activities at our church. While some of these programs do provide valuable advice, most of them are filled with poor choices that, if followed, will get you injured or killed in a real emergency. Without proper training, separating the fact from fiction can be a difficult task. Our primary focus this week is to teach participants the practical skills that will save them in a true emergency. While a number of Traditional Skills will be introduced, our goal this week is to provide participants with a pragmatic skill set. For instance, spending five hours building a lean-to when it gets dark in 20 minutes is not a practical choice. Trying to build a bow-drill fire kit from scratch without a knife and without properly seasoned wood in the damp environment of the Pacific Northwest is rarely practical. Although those types of skills will be demonstrated, we will challenge you to perfect the basics first – like carrying a small fire steel and a couple of cotton balls...

2016 Dorman Youth Football Camp - Roebuck, SC
The Dorman summer football camp is a non-contact camp designed to teach the fundamentals of the game of football to rising 2nd - 8th graders. The entire Dorman varsity football coaching staff, as well as all of our middle school coaches, will be instructing players in every facet of the game, including many of the same drills done by the Varsity Cavaliers. • Camp begins Monday, June 6th at 8:00am. Registration will begin at 7:30 each morning. Camp runs 8:00am-12:00pm daily • Camp dates are June 6th through June 9th • PRE-REGISTERED CAMPERS RECEIVE A $10 DISCOUNT Pre-registration cost is $80.00 (Before May 20, 2016) After May 20, Registration is $90.00 (including on day of camp) Camp registration includes: instruction, t-shirt, daily food items including breakfast and lunch, camp photo, certificate, bag, etc. • Rising 6th, 7th & 8th graders will choose one offensive and one defensive position to work throughout the week. Outdoor Explorers Camp for Ages 9-12 - Mt. Adams Institute
Outdoor Explorers Camp is a Cascade Mountain School day program that introduces students to the fun and excitement of outdoor adventures in the Trout Lake Valley. Students will get to explore an underground cave, build forts out of natural materials, hike to a secret natural spring and more. The entire camp will be spent outside! Parents are welcome to join in on the exploring! Day camps for ages 9-12 will be held Monday through Thursday from 1-4 pm each day. There will be optional transportation from Hood River, OR and Bingen, WA for an additional fee. The fee is $12.50/day/student for transport. 503-358-1949
