Summer Camps in Cumberland County, PA
This course will teach students the basics of the history of robotics, along with key components of robots and how they developed over time. Following completion of short web research work, students will work in teams to learn to build robots, to program them and to use various sensors to make them "smart." As students progress, using Lego Mindstorm EV3 kits, they will learn to create more "sophisticated" robots that can do things the simpler ones cannot. Students will be graded on their knowledge of robot history and their components, as well as on their ability to complete specific exercises with the robots. This "hands-on "course is not only fun, but is a great learning experience! STUDENTS MAY ACCRUE NO MORE THAN TWO, (2), ABSENCES IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS COURSE. ***CREDIT IS GUARANTEED FOR NDA STUDENTS ONLY. STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE NDA SHOULD VERIFY THAT THE CREDIT WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THEIR SCHOOL(S) PRIOR TO REGISTRATION. EACH STUDENT WILL RECEIVE A GRADE AND CREDIT VERIFICATION FROM THE INSTRUCTOR AT THE END OF THE COURSE.*** 419-475-9359 x1008

Is There a Dress Code?
Different camps have different types of dress codes, which is why parents should read all registration materials and welcome packets in advance. For example, a Christian camp may not want youth to wear two-piece bathing suits or spaghetti strap tank tops whereas a different camp may not care. Most summer programs will ask that youth wear age-appropriate clothing. This means avoiding any t-shirts or clothing items that have offensive or suggestive language or any overtly sexual and violent imagery.
Both the summer program’s mission or specialty and daily schedule and activities will dictate the details of the camp’s dress code....
