Marinwoods camp for middle school students mixes the skills taught in babysitter training with the fun of camp! Campers will learn basic child care, the business of babysitting, become certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid, and receive an American Red Cross Babysitter Training Certificate. They will also practice cooking skills, learn kid-friendly games, go swimming and have the opportunity to work with our youngest camps. This week will leave campers with the confidence and knowledge to start taking care of little ones! Camp fee includes babysitter handbook & certificate and First Aid/CPR certification. The 2nd Annual ATHENA Camp for Teen Girls Athena was the Greek goddess of reason, intelligent activity, arts and literature. She was fierce in battle, but also nurturing and creative. At Athena camp we will use expressive arts to explore what it means to be a girl in today's society. We'll do arts-n-crafts, listen to music, sing, decorate t-shirts, do creative writing, learn stress management strategies, explore and share thoughts about what kind of impact we want to leave in our community, bolster self esteem and reinforce the need to celebrate not compete with each other. **FOR INCOMING 9TH-12TH GRADE STUDENTS** Winter Camp is over... now it's time to think about SUMMER CAMP at Campus by the Sea. The total is $325 (includes EVERYTHING except for any extra money you'd like to bring for the day trip into Avalon). This year we are asking you for a $20 DEPOSIT BY FEBRUARY 8TH!!! We need you to get in an early deposit so we know how many spots to reserve for our church. Be sure to get those deposits in to guarantee your spot (we will only have a few extras just in case, but not a lot). The next deposit will be $100 which will be due on APRIL 12TH. In the Algebra Readiness Camp, students will improve their division, multiplication, addition and subtraction skills working with whole numbers, decimals and fractions to prepare for high school math. In this course, students strengthen their quantitative foundation, critical thinking and problem solving skills while boosting their confidence and readiness to start the new year. Team Prep USA will host their 9th annual Rocky Mountain Cross Country Camp in Crested Butte/Gunnison, Colorado. Camp will be held at the Western State College in Gunnison Colorado, home of the Division II perennial powerhouse Mountaineers distance programs and just 30 minutes south of Team Prep USAs headquarters and training center. Attendees of camp will have the opportunity to train at elevations ranging from 7,700 ft. to 10,500 ft. of the Colorado Rocky Elk Mountain Range. The Gunnison Valley of Colorado has become a Mecca, according to Nike for athletes of all kinds to train. In this week long camp, scientists will become geologists and paleontologists as we sift, sort and classify rocks, make rock models, compare the saturation rates and composition of different types of soil and make a yummy dirt dessert to take home. Well work with dirt-dwelling insects, learn about the rock cycle, make models of the earth and mix up a batch of quicksand. Scientists will work with geodes, discover how fossils were formed, take part in a mini excavation and more! Ages 5 - 10. 500$/week. Extended day is available until 6 pm for 10/hr. 7188328400.0
Fishing for Families - Ned Smith Center for Nature & Art
Join us for a great day of aquatic adventures at the Ned Smith Center! Families are invited to share the joy of fishing with your up-and-coming anglers, while learning about the complex environment of the Wiconisco Creek. Ample time will be dedicated to casting instruction and practice, as well as fishing along the creek. Equipment is provided. All participants must wear closed-toe, hard soled shoes that can get wet. Each child will receive a spin cast reel and rod at the conclusion of the day. Thanks to our program partners Bass Pro Shops, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and Doc Fritchey Chapter of Trout Unlimited, we are able to offer this camp at a reduced fee.
