Intro to Lego Robotics - Glenmont Elementary
Introducing the brand new Lego WeDo 2.0. Students will explore simple robotics using LEGO WeDo. Each week they will build models, attach sensors and motors that are plugged into a computer or tablet, and configure behaviors using simple programming. As students advance through the program extension projects can be added for those who are ready for more challenging projects. This robotics class covers topics within science, technology, mathematics and engineering. Science was never this much fun! Grades 4 & 5 meet on Wednesdays. Grades 1-3 meet on Thursdays. Students in grade 3 participating in both programs will meet on Wednesdays for Lego Robotics. From Manga to classic Superheroes, campers will explore different drawing, cartooning and animation styles in this extraordinary mixed media class. Some of our projects include creating character profiles and story lines to use in your own comic book and figure, and making doodles into colorful art posters. In this camp from Youth Digital, campers learn key modeling concepts as they design their 3D model in preparation for real 3D printing. At the end of camp, kids will walk away with a completed 3D model that is ready for 3D printing! Theyll also be able to access the online version of the course after camp, including video tutorials, interactive quizzes, and new challenges. Campers will learn the basics of 3D modeling as they prepare to have their creations printed using groundbreaking 3D printing technology. During camp, kids master 3D modeling and design skills including how to sculpt, texture, arrange, and render their 3D creation in preparation for 3D printing.
