Too Much Fun For One Summer
I was worried about what to do with the kids this summer because of my new job. Thanks to Camp Radians I didn't have to worry. They had so much fun every week. Between the swimming (which they can't get enough of) and the museum field trips I feel like they had extended recess. I also like the focus on culture through crafts and food. This is the first of 2 prison visits to this youth prison. This is one of 3 opportunities to interact with troubled youth in an effort to disuade them from the road to ruin they are on and introduce them to the road less travelled. Doug McGaughey will be the Contact Person for this visit. Invitations will go out 2 months prior to the visit date. Stay tuned for more detailed information as it's listed. Volleyball Camp: Middle School - Piedmont Middle School
This middle school volleyball camp focuses on individual player development and teamwork. attention is given to technique, skill and confidence so each camper improves as a volleyball player and develops a love for the game. All skill levels welcome! Sarah brings an extensive background in indoor and beach volleyball. As a junior in college she played for the Cals Indoor Volleyball team as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. Entering her senior year at UC Berkeley, Cole plans to finish her degree in integrative biology and continue her volleyball career as a current member of the Cals Womens Beach Volleyball Team. She is a AAA rated sand volleyball player and has coached for Presentation High School, City Beach Volleyball Club, Cal Summer Camps, and Piedmont Middle School. Participants should wear appropriate clothing, gym shoes, and knee pads; please bring a snack and water. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This camp is intended for students entering 6th - 8th grades. MINECRAFT® & 3D PRINTING and CODING Ages: Girls and Boys Entering Grades 4 - 6 Date: June 27 - July 8 Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Format: Two, one week morning and afternoon sessions. Student may register for Minecraft® and 3-D Printing in the morning and / or Coding in the afternoon. NOTE: To register for the Coding ONLY half day session, please see Coding Camp. Location: Laurels Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights Tuition: Half-day: $210/session: Full-day: $400/session Your kids may think Minecraft® is just an awesome video game, but we know better! Minecraft® is acknowledged by many educators as an important vehicle for engaging kids in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields such as programming, video game design and development and more. Students put problem-solving skills to the test as they create storyboards and engage in level design in a collaborative environment. Students will use Tinkercad web-based software to digitally model their very own Minecraft® characters which they have prototyped with clay, and will print them on the 3D printer to bring home at the end of camp. Fashion Sewing Camp at The Sewing Room- Student Choice Learn to sew, draw, and express yourself through fashion! Join us for a week or two of fashion fun. Each child will complete a garment and model it in an informal fashion show at the end of the week. We explore different aspects of the design process throughout the camp. Machines and tools are provided at THE SEWING ROOM, but students must purchase a project either from THE SEWING ROOM or from a fabric store (not included in the price of the camp). A pattern list appropriate to the class will be sent out in May. Snacks are provided, however, please have your child bring lunch. 9am-3pm Monday - Friday 510-332-9807

Guard Basics is the first of 3 programs under the Guard Development Series. Designed to help athletes develop the skills needed for a guard to be successful, both mentally and physically. Guard Basics will focus on Guard role and responsibilities, ball handling, passing, change of direction, bait and pass, shooting, etc. Each player will understand spacing, handling pressure and attacking the rim. Once players complete this program they will be able to enroll in the second program under the Guard Development Series - Playing the Position. Program consists of 6 - 1 hour sessions.
