Best Summer Ever
Our son just got back from the YMCA Camp and he can't stop talking about all the fun. We knew he was having a good time based on the photos he sent us but to see his face light up when he is retelling the stories is priceless. I'm sure we'll be hearing about the surf lessons, the horseback riding and the campfires for months to come! All kids up to age 18 welcome, no charge for current EquQuest horsemanship students; $250 for new students Camp dates are March 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18; 10 AM to 1 PM each day. Kid's learn to catch their own horse, tack it up, do ground work and ride (as age and confidence level appropriate). Get's them outside in sunshine and fresh air, helps them develop compassion for animals and puts them in touch with nature. Bring sunscreen, water and a snack. Call Michelle Clarke with any questions (512-868-7638) Equipment (except for riding helmets and boots) and horses provided. Please, no bicycle helmets.

Artapalooza-Track Out 4 Art Camp - Halle Cultural Arts Center
Ages 7-14. This fun art camp is all about color, expression and exploration. Well use a wide range of materials to paint, draw, print, collage, sculpt and express our creative selves. *$20 materials & supplies fee due to instructor on the first day. No experience necessary. Bring a healthy snack and water bottle. Claudia Finelle instructs. Limited to 15 participants. Art 8 - Cardboard Creationary - Artists Exchange
What do you get when you mix art, cardboard and creativity? Recycling at its finest. You can make just about anything with cardboard from paintings to trees. Imagine the possibilities this week when we work with nothing but cardboard. What happens when you put it in clay? Or when you mix it in the blender to make paper? If you could make anything out of cardboard what would you make? Exploring clay, drawing, painting, 3D construction and more, participants will complete an assortment of individual and group projects in each weeks theme, culminating in a showcase at the end of each camp, followed by the unveiling of an installation at our 9th annual Fall Out of Summer Arts Festival in September. * Artists Exchange will be open Monday the 8th on Victory Day. 401-490-9475
Craniosacral Balancing 1 - Kansas City
Mondays, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 3/28 and Wednesdays 3/16, 3/23 and 3/30 In this class, the student will be introduced to the craniosacral system of the human body, comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The emphasis in Craniosacral Therapy is to help resolve the trapped forces that underlie and govern patterns of disease in both body and mind. This involves the practitioner "listening through the hands" to the bodys subtle craniosacral rhythms to detect patterns of inertia or congestion. With this light touch modality – generally using only 5 – 6 grams of pressure – the practitioner can evaluate and treat restrictions in the craniosacral system offering relief to the client who suffers from migraines, autism, central nervous system disorders, chronic neck and back pain, stress, fibromyalgia and so much more. The deadline for registering is Friday March 4, at 5:00 p.m. CST. Cancellations made after this date/time will not receive a refund.
