Lego We-Do Robotics - The Surge Community Center
Education WeDo™ Robotics For campers who love to build and then take their models to the next level. New from Lego Education and Renaissance. Our future engineers work on Lego robotics kits. Each builder has his or her own kit! Interactive building and programming models is the newest educational frontier for kids that love building. Kids build a series of models such as an alligator, lion, helicopter, soccer player and more. Builders work together to build and program their model to move and make sounds. LEGO We-Do Robot Construction The LEGO® Education WeDo introduces young students to robotics when combined with the LEGO Education WeDo Software v.1.2 and various Activity Packs. Students will be able to build LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors; program their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as language, literacy, and social studies. The students will build any of the over 50 models and contains more than 300 elements including a motor, tilt sensor, motion sensor, and LEGO USB Hub. Fun Filled Field Trips - Old Trail School
Fun-filled field trips will be taken each day to enable campers to explore the exciting opportunities available in our community. Each morning will begin with a short educational reading and activity related to the field trip. Lunch will be eaten on the trip and a thematic afternoon snack will be provided. Each location offers campers the opportunity to play and explore. Campers should pack their own lunch. Field trips include: Cleveland Zoo, Great Lakes Science Center, Natural History Museum and Lake Farm Parks. Trips will be arranged according to weather and lunch should be packed in brown paper sacks or plastic bags to allow for easy disposal while on field trips. Youth Session: 3 pm to 5:00 pm daily Youth Session is for participants 3rd to 6th grade as of the 2015 - 2016 school year. Participants will be divided based on age and skill level to maximize learning. On behalf of Coach Bill Dwan, Associate Head Coach of Hopkins and Coach Matt Dwan, Assistant Coach, Loyola Mens Lacrosse, we are excited to partner with the Lambert High School Lacrosse Program to host our 2016 Elite Lax Camp! Due to NCAA Regulations, we are prohibited from advertising current players that will be working at the camp. The Elite Lax Camp features the TOP athletes at each position and ensure a player to coach ratio of 14 to 1 to maximize instruction. Learn from current collegiate players at the TOP of their game!! About Elite Lax Camp: Elite Lacrosse Camp to offer well-rounded lacrosse instruction tailored for all playing levels entwined with important lifes lessons and the significance of education and dedication. Golf Camps - Golf - St. Paul Gym
Learn the FUNdamentals for this lifetime sport with the University of Minnesota School of Golf. All Participants will experience the latest techniques in golf training and specialized starter equipment. Campers age 6-8 will learn putting, chipping and full swing technique through games and drills, plus etiquette and rules. Older campers add in pitching and additional training stations, plus get a chance to apply their skills on the course and learn more about how a golf course operates. These sessions are best for beginners to those with moderate experience. Bring golf clubs if you have them; some equipment is available to share. Please plan accordingly for the weather with a cap, sunscreen, water bottle, and umbrella or rain gear. All registrants agree to the policies and procedures of Youth Programs, including change fees, cancellation fees, deadlines, and other details found in the program materials and parent handbook. Children should bring a snack to each class.
