Summer 5 Days of Knight Camp for Kids - Battle of Agincourt - Portland
Kids day camp for the week of Aug 22nd through Aug. 26th Ages 7 through 12 - or first grade and up. Camp runs Monday through Thursday- 9:30am to 3:30pm Children should pack a lunch or bring money to buy food at the Subway in our parking lot. Before and after care are available for an additional fee - see below. Camp must be pre-registered. There are no refunds however arrangements can be made to transfer registration to a different child. Our program is focused on teaching historical arts connected to the martial culture of Europe in the time of the crusades and beyond to the 16th century. We teach history and real world skills related to the time and culture of Knighthood. This this course we will focus on the Battle of Agincourt.... a decisive time in history. The invasion took a muster of troops... a ship voyage... and then an overland campaign. This past year saw the Anniversary celebration of the Battle at European battle sites and museums. In addition... Learn the skills of Sword and Shield from documented historical texts Learn about European History and culture Play Medieval games Learn about heraldry and make your own shield with your own coat of arms Learn metalworking skills...

Volleyball Camp Ages 7 - 12 - Centennial Middle School
Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it together into one fun-filled camp. All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting and serving. This co-ed program is designed for the beginning and intermediate player. Our volleyball staff will assist each athlete in developing fundamental skills through game-speed drills, daily scrimmages aimed at developing the whole player. Please wear appropriate clothing and bring two snacks, knee pads, and water bottle. All participants receive a t-shirt,volleyball and player evaluation. Campers will participate in: High Ropes Swimming Hiking Archery Crafts Teambuilding Leadership Activities Giants Ladder Slack Line Zip Line Climbing Wall Pamper Pole Offsite Rappelling/Climbing Day Trip 3 Night Backpacking Experience* Weekly Schedule: Monday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm *Tuesday 9:00 am through Friday at 12:00 noon Parent Program: Thursday 7:00 - 9:00 pm Catered lunch provided daily. All meals provided during overnight experience. Adventure Academy summer camp is open to children ages 7-14. We strive to ensure that each child leaves camp with long-lasting memories of adventure, discovery and friendship. We provide a safe environment in which to have new experiences, gain an appreciation for the outdoors and develop leadership skills and abilities. Our 10:1 camper to counselor ratio ensures a quality experience for each child. Adventure Academy takes place on Camp Mary Ortons 167 wooded acres, bordered by the Olentangy River. Action! This camp focuses on using computers, video games and Minecraft to produce in game movies on the computer, also known as Machinima. Campers will be introduced to the technology, hardware and software they can use to produce a movie of their very own and what tools they can use to upload their movies online. (516) 750-3104
Speed & Agility Camp, Session 2 - Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy
Where: Wroubel Center, main gym, outdoor & sand courts About: Students who attend this camp will work on all aspects of conditioning, including but not limited to speed training, agility, quickness, and anaerobic conditioning. This camp incorporates sprint mechanics and footwork as it relates to various cone, ladder, band and sprint drills, first step quickness and lateral movements. Students will be exposed to different resisted movements as well as basic agility and plyometrics. Great for sports that need high levels of conditioning like Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, etc. By using some of these techniques, some of the 2015 football players lowered their 40-yd dash & pro-agility and increased their vertical jump. This will also help soccer with improving pre-season testing results and in-season conditioning. **Sign up for both speed & agility sessions and pay only $100. Discount will automatically load at checkout.** What to wear/bring: Athletic attire, shoes for indoor and outdoor, socks, water bottle, and a readiness to prepare for your upcoming season. Students will be introduced to the structure of ballet with classical music, along with more free-flowing dance as well. Open to all genders. Ballet slippers are recommended but not required.
