LATEST CAMPS NEWS: All About Me: Self Portraiture 3-5 (Monday) - Janney Elementary School
Students will learn how to create images of themselves while making self-portraits. They will practice close observation with mirrors as well as correct use of proportion, shading, and tone. Projects include realistic self-portraits in which students will attempt to achieve likeness and ab- stract portraits inspired by modern artists. Mon, July 18, 2016 - Fri, July 22, 2016 Summer Art Camp at the SCGA Morning Classes: 9:00am - 12:00pm: Print It! Stamp It! Stomp It! (Ages 4-7) Our youngest artists will have an exciting time becoming printmakers. Students will engage in group activities designed to promote teamwork and creative thinking through the creation of a collaborative class project, will make their own stamps and printing plates, use an etching press and have a stomping good time with Miss Marjorie! Storytellers (Ages 4-7) Storytelling helps students improve their language skills, instills a love of reading and stirs imaginations. In this first-time class, talented professor of visual art Jennifer Pepper will guide students through painting, drawing and mixed media activities based on a variety of classic and contemporary children’s stories. Sculpt This! (Ages 8-12) Students will explore sculpture by examining the distinct ways artists have explored 3D forms throughout history. Each day the children will play a different sport. The different sports include soccer, basketball, t-ball, and flag football. Were working on fundamental skills and organized play of the game. Players should join us for skill building and healthy game competition. 206-957-1533

PA, Philadelphia; Winter Open Faceoff Days - 360 Soccer
Open to Philadelphia Freedom faceoff players first due to field rental. Each Winter Open Faceoff Days will consist of warm ups, presentation and group practice of specific faceoff techniques as well as real time faceoffs. Faceoff techniques will include footwork, stance, hand position, primary move, counter move, GB play, wing play, stick work, and shooting instruction, etc. Individual player observation and instruction will occur throughout. Clinic will conclude with a skill appropriate king of the hill. Algebra II - For-Credit Optional - Head-Royce School
This course is taught by veteran Head-Royce Math Teacher Chris Davies A U.C. Certified equivalent of academic year Algebra II taught in an intensive six-week format. Top-performing Head-Royce students may use the course to accelerate into Pre-calculus pending departmental approval. Other purposes for taking this course include reviewing and previewing Algebra II as needed. (As with all summer for-credit courses, students may choose to audit this course or proceed on a for-credit basis.) Textbooks will be loaned to the students, but students must provide their own graphing calculator (Head-Royce uses the TI84 or TI83). Prerequisite: Algebra 1 and Geometry, minimum C grade. Tigers Elite Soccer Camps in Los Angeles offer an opportunity for players to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental and advanced skills of soccer. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful soccer players. Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learners attention, which results in attentive practice.
