Where Will My Child Sleep at Summer Camp?
Different camps have different types of accommodations. Some groups have kids sleeping in well-ventilated cabins whereas others have air-conditioned dorm rooms. Bathrooms could be in cabin or in a nearby wash house. There are also programs that have youth sleeping in tents outside. An organization’s mission often dictates the sleeping arrangements. For example, a 4-H or Girl Scout group may want campers to be outdoors to learn important survival skills whereas an academic camp may want youth inside so they can focus on their work.

Berrien County Riders 2016 Annual MDA Summer Camp Run - Saint Joseph,
10 am sign up at the mark. $20.00 driver $10.00 rider. Ride leaves at noon on a scenic route to the Dowagiac Moose and then back to playland hall on Nickerson Ave. Lunch and dinner supplied. Cash bar. Door prizes and silent auction. We want to make this one of the largest events we have done for MDA and send as many kids to camp as we can at no charge to them. If you can make the ride please think about just donating to the cause. Thank You.
2016 Pre-Teen Summer Camp – Register March 9-11 - Scott Air Force Base
Youth, ages 9-13, are invited to register for the YP Pre-Teen Summer Camp which is held weekdays during the summer months from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This camp offers half day care with extracurricular activities for youth. Field trips will be conducted once a week to places like Sky Zone, City Museum, Raging Rivers Water Parks, The Fusion, laser tag, as well as excursions to base activities. (Field trips/activities such as bowling are an additional cost.) Fee: $100/child per week, plus the cost of excursions. Youth Programs membership is required. Annual Program membership is $48/child. Camp begins at 6:30 a.m., and ends at 12:30 p.m. when open recreation at the Youth Center starts. Youth are required to bring their own meals, however the snack bar is open periodically. Limited slots are available, sign-up early! Registration will coincide with School Age Program Summer Camp registration days, March 9-11 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more details, call Youth Programs at 256-5139.
40 Years of Camp Goddard - Reunion (SouthMac) - Sulphur, OK
This is a TENTATIVE event page to see who would be interested in heading to Goddard Youth Camp for a weekend in June 2016. Please invite everyone that you know who has attended "Camp Goddard" through South MacArthur Church of Christ to like this event and the Facebook page. This Reunion will be open to all ages and families are encouraged to come together! There is enough cabin space for 210 people. Cabin spaces will be available in groups of 10 on a first come, first served basis. Restrictions: Older couples or those with major medical issues will be given cabin preference if they would prefer not to sleep in tents/RV's. Camping with tents/RV's will be a slightly cheaper option than cabins because we may be expecting more than 210 people. Middle School "Budding Stars" Tennis Camp - The Prairie School
A limited number of students who love the game and are willing to work will be enrolled in this class. Students must be entering grades 5 through 8 unless approved by an instructor. Half of the class is instruction and drills, and the other half is supervised play. Again this year, we are excited to offer supervised match-play on Friday mornings, included in the weekly class fee! -- All classes are held on the Prairie School tennis courts, and class sizes are limited. The primary instructor for tennis is Nich Schafer. Private lessons are also available. Africans in Diaspora - Fieldston
Only open to students who are currently enrolled in Fall 2015 session The Africans in Diaspora Club will expose students to a variety of cultures while also looking at the many ways that Africa and its people have influenced the broader world. Students will have the opportunity to read, and critically discuss, Margy Burns Knights book, Africa Is Not A Country, with the intent of dismantling stereotypes and developing an appreciation for Africas diverse people, histories, colors, languages and foods. Additionally, students will be actively engaged in the process of learning, playing, dancing, eating and organizing. There is a strong possibility that there will be an international trip (during Spring Break 2016) connected to this club. Club time will be used to prepare for the trip. 212-712-6230

Join La Paz physical education instructor, Ron McAlister, and Mission Viejo High School teacher, Kelly McAlister, for a week of fun, sports, games, and exercise. Each day will be jam-packed with activities to get your heart pumping and your face smiling. We will play all kinds of sports and activities such as: indoor soccer, lacrosse, whiffle ball, volleyball, relays, floor hockey, bowling, stilts, earth ball, scooters, and more. The emphasis at La Pazitive Sports Camp is on fun, participation, and sportsmanship. All sessions will be held in the comfort of the La Paz air-conditioned gym. For Campers who need to improve printing skills. Fun and creative multi-sensory activities that include yoga, crafts, and the program "Handwriting Without Tears." Campers will address letter & number formation, spacing, and line placement while working on improved posture and core strength necessary for good printing. Field Trip Camp - with Mr. Earl - Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission
Field Trips will leave at different times. Drop-off at the Jefferson County Community Center will be at 9:00 a.m. for the trips on Monday thru Thursday. Friday?s trip to Hershey Park will leave from the JCCC at 7am and will return at 6:30pm. Some trips may not leave until later or may leave as early as 9:15 a.m. During wait time for bus departure and drop off, games and other activities will be provided for the children until they are boarded. Pick-up for campers will be at 4:00 p.m. All trips are transported by Jefferson County School Buses. Campers will be required to bring special items each day. Campers must bring a packed lunch to camp each day, and wear sneakers, along with a snack and plenty of water. Other examples include: swimwear, extra cash for concessions/souvenirs, sunscreen, etc. Parents/Guardians who would like to volunteer to assist with the camp must pay their own fees for entry for each field trip. Parents/Guardians will need to submit a volunteer background check by July 10, 2013 in order to attend any trip. Cost includes tickets and admission for all trips daily.
