iLab Tinkerfest 3rd-6th grades PM - Wichita Collegiate School
Instructors: Finan & Cusick Get ready to build, invent and reinvent in our Innovation Lab. You will learn how the art of tinkering brings STEM projects to a whole new level of fun and inspiration. Whether you are a girl or a boy, into science, art, building or being creative in any way, this is the class for you. You will look at existing inventions with an eye for how you can improve them or invent something else altogether. You will have the option of choosing from projects such as: Fuse-your-own Fabrics, Slingshot Car Launcher, Wood-Crafted Wonders, Toppling Towers, Remote Release Zip Line Alarm Clock and that is just to name a few. Soft Ground Etching (3 classes) - Kala Printmaking Studio
An in-depth course exploring all aspects of soft ground etching and its combination with aquatint, chine colle, and drawing. Students will learn about line and tone etching, shape and texture transfer, and aquatint manipulation. They will create layered prints by the addition of a second plate to the one holding the key design. All levels welcome.
