What to Expect on Closing Day?

Parents should always make sure to ask about pick up and drop off dates and times. Most camps will call to remind parents the day or two before, but this is not always a given. It is usually possible to pick up a child early but parents should talk to the Camp Director to confirm this. At closing, it is great to talk to the staff and see how a child did. This is a chance to hear about their successes, goals, and general performance. Parents who debrief with the camp staff can use this information at home and for the school year.

The end of camp is an emotional time for many children. It is important for parents to be sensitive to this fact by connecting with other parents and help the kids keep in touch. Tears and sadness are a normal part of leaving. This means that the campers connected and experienced something truly great.
