Not all camps are co-ed. There are some single-gender camps available in addition to traditional co-ed programs.

Single-gender camps are great if parents want their children to focus on empowerment and independence. Many youth today are distracted by the other gender, and this is a chance to give kids a break so that they learn how to be friends with their peers. Many of these programs work with nearby groups so that the campers can get off camp and interact with a variety of people.

Coed camps are a great way for kids to get to know one another and make healthy relationships with all genders. Parents can expect that most programs will divide youth by gender when it comes to cabin assignment, showering, and for some activities.
