Fashion Design & Wearable Technology - Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta
Description: Generation Infocus invites tinkering girls and boys to participate in the fashion design/wearable technology STEAM studio to learn how Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics all can be used to transform the things we wear. This design-based studio will immerse students in the mathematical concepts surrounding garment engineering and how circuitry can be incorporated into clothing to make them light up! Students will learn the basics of hand and machine sewing to be equipped to engage in garment construction challenges such as creating a superhero themed e-textile cuff. This is the rescheduled date for the class that was supposed to be on January 23rd, but had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. 404-525-5561

The Dance Academy Designed to serve the needs of the committed and focused student, 4 to 18 years old, who is seeking to expand their dance vocabulary and dramatically improve their technique. The Academy is calling you! With an emphasis on Classical Ballet and Modern Dance, the Academy students follow a schedule designed by the directors that will also include, depending on level, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and African Dance. Voice, and Art classes are also offered in rotation. Multi-day training and a comprehensive vocabulary are necessary for any artist to achieve success in the dance world. Compare this with the world of Sports: Kobe, LeBron, Jordan, and all of the Gods of Basketball train every day. We have also seen remarkable results in academic achievement as a result of the character education dance training instills. Young people of NCA learn to manage their time. All Academy Students perform in seasonal concerts and the year end concert and are encouraged to audition for theatrical productions. 2016 Fredericksburg Fishing Camp - Virginia Outdoor Center
Our Fredericksburg Adventure day camp for 7-14 year old runs Mon-Fri from 8:30 to 4:30. We have designed the camp to teach the entire process of fishing from rigging rods, tying knots, canoeing, baiting hooks, all while introducing campers to the great wealth of fishing opportunities the area has to offer from area ponds and lakes to the Rapidan and Rappahannock Rivers. 804-272-6362

Robotics - Seattle Preparatory School
Do you think you can solve a highly interactive robotics game? Would you like to create an effective scoring robot both using tele-operated mode and autonomous mode using the VEX IQ Design system? If you answered yes to those questions, this is the camp for you! Students will learn how to design effective robots, overcome design challenges, and effectively use motors, gears and sensors in a winning combination to create a robot. On the last day of camp, participants will run their robots in a real competition in front of friends and family! VEX IQ robotics design system will be used to learn the art of engineering, science and programming. Willem Scholten is Seattle Preps robotics coach. He is passionate about introducing kids through hands-on learning, to the wonderful world of Robotics. Why Robotics?
