For him, the freedom to be active in a beautiful country environment, play games, and swim was important (and he learned a lot about nature along the way). Boy Scouts Troop 114 is trying to raise funds for Summer Camp! Please stop by and grab a delicious dinner anytime between 5-8pm on Thursday, March 3rd. You can come in and visit with the troop while you eat or you can even participate via the drive-thru! Oasis in the Mountains: ADOPTED Students (Grades 7-12) are invited to join us for our annual Summer Camp from Jully 22-25. Registration is open and you can register at www.mbcpetal.com Camp will be held at Wafloy Retreat Center in the mountains of Tennessee. Our speaker this year will be Kevin Cooper and music will be led by the Christ Layton Band. Cost is $275 which includes a deposit of $75 to reserve your spot. Enjoy your days at camp and your nights in your own bed! New this year we are offering our Junior Campers the option of coming as Day Campers. You will be assigned a cabin and team for the week, sign up for three achievements like archery, music, fishing, drama and more (15+ to choose from). Suggested drop off and pick up times of 8:30 and 6:00 but we can tailor for your familys needs. Neighborhood Park Camp at La Pintoresca Park is a traditional, high-quality camp that is fun and affordable. Activities include arts and crafts, physical fitness games and challenges, dance, visits to the library, enrichment activities and swimming. Campers play basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball. Instruction is also offered in golf and tennis. Campers are escorted to Robinson Park Recreation Centers swimming pool for recreational swim two times per week. Staff go into the water with the campers and certified lifeguards are always present. Fun field trips are often the highlight of the week. Trips are an additional charge and are scheduled for once a week. This camp is a good fit for active campers who like sports and group activities. The ratio of staff to campers is 1 to 10. Campers are grouped by age, and lunch and a snack are provided. Camp culminates in the annual ?War Games? in which Washington Park Camp and La Pintoresca Park Camps compete in a series of challenges to determine an annual camp champion.
