Minecraft Adventures - Universalist Unitarian Church - Arlington
Welcome to the world of Mining and Crafting. At this exciting camp your child will craft and create on a lap top computer. Throughout the week, your child will be given exciting building challenges in BOTH the creative and survival mode of MINECRAFT ® BEWARE OF CREEPERS!! Renaissance has hired some mining experts to help your child learn secrets and short cuts that can be taken home for use on their own MINECRAFT® games. A secure server will be provided for their use during this camp. We will focus on several advanced crafting skills such as red-stone wiring, advanced survival tactics and advanced gardening. Campers will participate in a horserace and become paleoentoligists digging for bones to construct a dinosaur. There are new challenges everyday and the excitement builds with each new challenge. Your child will learn to build advanced structures using uncommon building techniques focusing on color schemes roof designs and interior builds. 12 campers so SPACE IS LIMITED! *This camp will also change from week to week so that kids may sign up for more than one camp. 703-244-0585

Come spend a week playing and learning about ?America?s favorite pastime?? baseball! Designed to teach your child baseball-specific techniques and build skills to better play baseball in a fun and encouraging environment. Your child will: - learn the proper techniques for hitting, catching, throwing, and running - find out the difference between and four-seam and two-seam fastball and when to use them - be taught the importance of preparation and practice - apply techniques daily and get better! We love our Arrowhead campers! These 2nd graders show that they are ready for all the fun activities Marinwood has to offer. Arrowhead campers can be seen exploring our local Forest, playing epic games of Capture the Flag on our field and have even known to travel over to Miller Creek to play in the giant gymnasium. When not exploring, Arrowheads like to play at our playground, take a dip in the pool or spend some chill time doing arts and crafts indoors. From butterflies and beetles, to birds and buttercups, and more! Flora and fauna abounds in this secluded historic garden; there is so much to explore! Camp will be held outdoors when weather permits, as well as in Van Vlecks spacious and air conditioned Education Center. SummerARTs fantastic teaching artists will teach camp sessions, and projects will include a variety of fine art materials and methods such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and more. Students will have the opportunity to exhibit their work and celebrate what they have learned with family and friends at a closing reception held at the end of each session.
