The Republican Women of Rock Island County are sponsoring a fun trivia night for the benifit of the Jacaranda Youth Camp, a basketball camp that will be taking place later this year in Nairobi, Kenya! Get a double helping of technology. First, build remote-control, motor-driven animals and vehicles using LEGO® components. Then, create their own computer game using Stencyl® software, one of the newest and best ways to create games for a computer or mobile device. In the morning, create "Nessie," the Loch-Ness creature, beautifully detailed versions of the the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing Fighter from Star Wars®, a funny-walking spider, and a twin-motor vehicle that you can quickly transform into a turtle! Students learn about motors, gears, hinges, wheels and axles, and more! With their remotes, students race and send their creations on missions. Grade 5/6 Co-ed Indoor soccer - HMAC at Old Trail School
Old Trail will join the Hudson Uniteds Co-ed Indoor Soccer Recreation league. All games will be played at NC Sports Center in Hudson. All practices will be at Old Trail School: Practices will start in the HMAC on Games will be on Saturdays, 2/27 , 3/5, 3/12, 4/2. 4/9, 4/16, and 4/23. Start times of the games will vary. Practices are on Thursday 2/18 , Mon. 2/22 and Thursdays 3/3, 3/10, 4/7, 4/14, 4/21 No practice week of MS spring trips 3/14-3/18 The fee for this program is $180, and will include all league and registration fees, a uniform jersey, and coaching. Deadline for registration is 2/10/16 (registration closed) In addition to signing up through the Old Trail program website, participants need to fill out two Hudson United registration forms, provided in your confirmation email. FUNdamental Youth Football Camp - SHS Stadium
The Seymour Football FUNdamental Youth Football Camp will take place May 25-27th at Bulleit Stadium (SHS Campus). Wednesdays camp will be from 4-6PM, while Thursday and Fridays camp will be from 8:00-10:00AM. The camp is open to any student who will be in Kindergarten through 6th grade during the 2016-2017 school year. Pre-registered campers will receive a camp shirt. Walk-up registrations will be accepted. However, walk-up registration will not be guaranteed a camp shirt. Camp shirts will be issued to walk-up registrations on a first come, first served basis. The Seymour Football FUNdamental Youth Camp will introduce and refine the basic fundamental skills of the game of football. This is a NON-CONTACT camp. Proper techniques of blocking, throwing, catching, ball carrying, ball-security and route-running will be taught and developed. Safe and proper tackling techniques will be taught using padded practice dummies. No tackling of any players will take place during this camp. The emphasis of this camp is to develop basic skills and to have fun while learning the game of football.
