Mountain Biking Adventure 201 - Greensboro Day School
MOUNTAIN BIKING 201 $250 Grades 6+ July 25-29 8:30AM-2:00PM Did you know that within a half mile of the Greensboro Day School campus is access to over 35 miles of the best municipal mountain bike trails in North Carolina!?! Looking to build on a successful first year at the 2015 GDS summer camp , we are back for even more fun for 2016 with two sessions available! [MTB 101 June 13-17 and MTB 201 July 25-29] For a full week, your child will get the opportunity to safely explore our amazing local Greensboro mountain bike trails while also learning basic mountain bike repair and maintenance. Instruction will be provided from highly experienced local bike shop mechanics combined with skills instruction and guided rides from certified International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) guides. This camp will split time between instruction, skills sessions and most importantly bike riding! All your child needs is a bike in good working condition with knobby tires and a helmet. YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR CHAMPION CLASSES AT TPC ON WEDNESDAYS FROM 6-7PM The Champion Level Program is for players looking to expand their golf skills, improve on-course play, and, for players who may be interested, playing high school golf. The Champion Program focuses on short putting, long putting, short chipping, long chipping, pitching (high shots), pitching (low shots), posture and best routines, grip basics, club face control, driving success, iron consistency, hybrid and fairway metals and on-course strategies. Our lesson plans will go more in depth in etiquette, rules of golf, golf skills, shot making, and begin discussions for those that want to pursue local competitions. The Champion Session Package Includes: - Three 60-minute supervised practice sessions - One 60-minute On-Course Coaching Session (held at course to be determined) - One 30-minute private lesson with a Suzy Certified Instructor - SWJGA Hat - Low Student-Instructor Ratio Requirements for the Champion Level Program: - Ages 7-17 (based on class size, players will be grouped by age) - Consistently Scores 48-60 for 9 Holes and has passed the Medalist Benchmarks (860) 306-6059
School of Rock - Ohlook Performing Arts Center
The brand new musical - which opened this season on Broadway - follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school and ends up turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. SCHOOL OF ROCK is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who composed 14 songs to create the score, which also features all of the original songs from the movie. Ohlook has been granted a special license to perform this show while it is still performing on Broadway! Come join us and add a Regional Premiere to your resume! Performances: April 15 - May 1 Rehearsal Schedule will be set after auditions. You must audition during our Spring Auditions (Jan. 22, 23, or 24) to be considered for this show. Camp Shalom LIT - Session IIB - JCC Campus
The Camp Shalom LIT Program (formerly counselor in training) has been redesigned to allow teens a multifaceted experience. The program contains three core components: leadership training, hands-on counselor skills guidance, and fun, social programming. Each two-week session will provide teens the opportunity to experience every facet of working at a summer camp from interacting directly with campers to shadowing activity specialists. Under the supervision of the LIT Assistant Director, LITs will meet as a group regularly to attend workshops specially planned for them. Each LIT will have the opportunity to become CPR and First Aid Certified. Upon successful completion of the LIT Program, participants will receive a minimum of 45 community service hours and are eligible for a higher rate of pay as Assistant Counselors at Camp Shalom. 512-735-8100
