WEEK 1: EARTH What exactly is soil and how does composting improve it? What living things live beneath the earth we walk on? The earth and our local park and gardens provide our campers with an extraordinary opportunity for exploration. Our campers will begin tending to the soil and planting seeds. Our campers will also learn about composting with a visiting workshop from Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Minecraft, 3D Printing (& Coding): Week 1 - Lyman Campus
MINECRAFT® & 3D PRINTING and CODING Ages: Girls and Boys Entering Grades 4 - 6 Date: June 27 - July 8 Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Format: Two, one week morning and afternoon sessions. Student may register for Minecraft® and 3-D Printing in the morning and / or Coding in the afternoon. NOTE: To register for the Coding ONLY half day session, please see Coding Camp. Location: Laurels Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights Tuition: Half-day: $210/session: Full-day: $400/session Your kids may think Minecraft® is just an awesome video game, but we know better! Minecraft® is acknowledged by many educators as an important vehicle for engaging kids in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields such as programming, video game design and development and more. Students put problem-solving skills to the test as they create storyboards and engage in level design in a collaborative environment. Students will use Tinkercad web-based software to digitally model their very own Minecraft® characters which they have prototyped with clay, and will print them on the 3D printer to bring home at the end of camp. SD Skatelife Summer Camp - Encinitas Community Park
Join us at the Encinitas Skate Plaza for a week of skateboarding fun! Learn how to skate in a safe and controlled environment with expert instructors from SD Skatelife. This camp is designed to teach skateboards of any level. Come learn skateboarding fundamentals, meet guest professional skateboarders and make new friends. All participants must wear helmets, elbow and knee pads. Waterfalls & Wading - July 24 - Camp Pisgah
Come explore the treasured rivers and waterfalls of western North Carolina! In this session, practice boating on our lake, slide down a natural rock cascade, spend the afternoon tubing along a lazy river, hike through DuPont State Park and explore the waterfalls where the Hunger Games movie was filmed. You and your group will still have plenty of time for campfires and smores as well. Due to the nature of this program, girls must be able to swim 25 yards and tread water non-stop for two minutes in order to participate. 336-274-8491

Camp Whatchamacallit - Stupendous Science - Sandpiper Community Center
***NEW! Camp Whatchamacallit will now provide daily lunches. Lunch menus will be sent home prior to the start of each camp week.*** What do you call a camp that has everything? We couldn think of a name either! Whatchamacallit has something for kids looking for a fun and safe place to spend their summer in the Shores. Activities include a weekly field trip, special events, sports, team building, and arts and crafts. Kids will go swimming at Herkner Pool in Redwood City on Tuesdays and field trips will be on Wednesdays. Please send camper with applied sunscreen and appropriate sneakers. Post care is available from 5-6pm at an additional cost. Field trips are subject to change. Stupendous Science: Now is your chance to explore everything around you!
