The Gems are hosting their 2nd Annual Summer Dance Camp on July 16-17th, 2016. This is a two day camp for 1st - 8th grade dancers of all abilty and skill levels. All classes will be held in the main facility at the Albany Boys and Girls Club. Both days will run from 8:00am - 3:00pm. This give LOTS of time for parents to get some stuff done while we entertain your kiddos! Classes will be split up by level and experience so that everyone is in a class they are comfortable with. Classes will be divided into Mini, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Class descriptions will be posted later in the comments. Dancers will stretch and warm up together, learn a entire camp dance, learn level appropriate dance routines, practice technical skills that apply to all dancers, and dancers will be given snack and lunch breaks both days. At the end of the second day (3:00pm) there will be a family and friends show so that your dancers can show you what they've been working on. Want to learn the Java programming language? Want to mod (modify) in Minecraft? Do both with this camp as you learn the fundamentals of Java programming by creating your own modification for every item, block, or creature you add. First design the graphics, then modify Java code to quickly program new features. You will edit Java templates in order to learn the fundamentals of the language without getting bogged down typing hundreds of lines of code, one by one. Horse Camp for a Day 3/25/16 - The Greenwell Foundation
Horse Camp for a Day is for children ages 7 – 14 (by first day of camp session) Based on our popular summer horse camps, Horse Camp for a Day offers similar activities in a one-day format. Riders will be given challenges whether they have never ridden a horse at all, or have some experience. Campers will ride once during the day with a qualified riding instructor. Other activities may include a horse-themed craft, a sensory trail hike, or a horse- themed activity with a horse such as ground work, braiding their mane, or giving them a pony pedicure! An afternoon snack will be provided. Horse Camp for a Day is offered on five days of Spring Break and on occasional days off from St. Marys County Public Schools. PM Extended Care and Drop-In Extended Care is available. Riding will be cancelled and an alternate activity provided if weather conditions make the arena unsafe. Age Range: 7 and up Description: Campers will spend a week exploring all things Minecraft: from educational MODs, build challenges, hands on clay Minecraft figurine building, build a Minecraft torch that lights up, hour of code with Minecraft, Minecraft style block art tile painting, learn about screen printing and stencil your very own Creeper t-shirt, make Minecraft Creepers out of Hama beads, to paper arts and more. Students will spend about half the session online playing in a safe Minecraft student education environment, the other half creating Minecraft themed art. Extreme Adventure Camp is a two week coed camp for incoming 7th and 8th graders. The first week consists of adventurous activities and field trips based out of our Butler Campus. Field trips include indoor rock climbing, mountain biking, and kayaking / paddle boarding. There will also be numerous activities and adventure games at Butler Campus, including our Project Adventure high ropes challenge course. (Campers must bring their own bike and be proficient in cycling and swimming.) Week 1 will prepare students for our Extreme Adventure Trip (June 20 - 24) in Fayetteville, West Virginia, where campers will camp in tents, go rafting, rock climbing, and go on the tree top canopy tour and zip lines! *Please note participants must be twelve years old at the time of camp; demonstrate the ability to follow directions; and complete a skills assessment before going on the West Virginia trip. 216-455-0154
