Opti 2 - Sailing, Tennis, & Seamanship ( Intermediate ) Eligibility AYC Jr Sailing is open to all children regardless of membership status. Admittance in the 2s class is based on their ability and performance in Opti 1s, and demonstration of adequate swimming skills for safety purposes. Or beginners in the Opti 2 age range, 10-12. Sailing The Opti 2 Sailing class builds on the 1s mastery of the basic skills of sailing. Participants will work on developing advanced sailing skills. A Opti 2 sailor will be able to master basic knots, have a strong understanding of the parts of the boat and sail and their effects on powering and de-powering the boat. Sailors will have a constant awareness of the wind, be able to trim for different points of sail and conditions, have an awareness of body position relative to wind and wave conditions, and consistently use tiller extension. The 2s will make controlled gybes, tack without falling-off the breeze, sail in and out of the river independently, land on docks or instructors motor boat safely, and have a basic understanding of the Rules of the Road. SuperStart is an overnight event at Traders Point Christian Church for current 4th and 5th Grade Students. Your child will arrive at HCC on Friday the 22 and return Saturday the 23. Once you have registered your child, you will receive a confirmation email, as well as other information concerning the event. Hogwarts will be conducting a second session of summer studies in Akron, Ohio for potential Witches and Wizards from muggle families. If you enjoyed this camp last year, you will love it this year. This opportunity is available to potential students ages 7 to 14. Classes will be offered in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions and Wand Lore. Teens dive deep into French in our summer immersion classes. Every week, students will focus on improving French reading, writing and conversation skills. Grouped according to age and level, our highly trained teachers will lead teens to pick up communication skills while exploring Francophone culture. Open to all levels of Middle and High School French. These camps will help students in transition from Middle to High School, review past materials, get a head start on new material and skip a grade level. Mornings will focus on academics and in the afternoons teens will explore French cultures in Los Angeles with a program designed just for them!
