2 Day Event, Come Play Under the Lights! -This is a non-contact camp, designed to put players (boys and girls, ages 5-14) through the paces of most positions, and prepare them for the upcoming season. Players will rotate from station to station as they learn valuable techniques and fundamentals from the Lakeside High School Football Coaching Staff. Come play under the lights and Experience how it feels to play like a Lakeside Lancer under the big lights! When: June 17, 2016 from 5 pm – 8 pm June 18, 2016 from 8 am - 12 pm Where: Lakeside High School Stadium Cost: $30 for both days, at the gate sign ups registration starts at 4 pm. FRIDAY : Pre & K Program - Archaeological Mysteries - The Philadelphia School
Join us for an exciting day exploring archaeological mysteries of various ancient cultures. Students will learn about the construction of a pyramid and create a three- dimensional, textural model of this ancient wonder. They will create personal cylinder seals by carving ancient symbols into a rolled cylinder and then imprint this image into slabs of clay. We will also design relief replicas of a series of ancient Geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in Peru known as Nazca Lines. Choice games, indoor and outdoor activities and a mid-morning snack of a delicious Turkish food will be provided. Please have your child bring a lunch including a beverage. Please pack a lunch (including a beverage) in a disposable bag. For the safety of our students, please DO NOT INCLUDE PEANUT BUTTER or any nuts in your childs lunch. Students are required to wear a red t-shirt on all trips. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with drop-off available in the yard beginning at 8:00 a.m. (at no extra charge). **Extended day is available from 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. for an additional $20. Advanced Robotics with LEGO EV3-Gayton Baptist - Gayton Baptist Church
Using LEGOs New EV3 Space Challenge Set and Activity Pack, campers are introduced to robotics with a very current and real-world theme, traveling to and living on Mars! Campers will work as scientists and engineers as they progress through a set of lessons, challenges, and projects that fully integrate science, technology, engineering, and math concepts, while prompting creative problem solving, communication, and teamwork. Campers will learn the basics of gears to help them apply physical science and math principles to build effective robots. They will also progress through a series of missions in which they investigate, observe, calculate, and apply their knowledge to solve specific tasks. Our space engineers will conduct research as they explore, plan, and develop three fundamental challenges NASA engineers and scientists are working to solve: How to endure humans can survive in space; how humans can create energy in space; and how robots can help humans explore space. 678-294-9504
