Spring Science Camp is a fun-packed, one week day camp led by top notch, enthusiastic Recreation Leaders where kids get to have ?Aha!? moments of creativity and discovery while building and playing with unique toys, astonishing gadgets, and fantastic gizmos -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please bring any recycled item for various planned science projects on the first day of Camp. Items can include - soda can, soda / water bottles, newspaper, milk cartons, etc. Field Trip - Griffith Observatory - Wednesday 3/30 Campers must bring a sack lunch daily, and are required to wear a camp t-shirt daily. The dates for this years camp are July 25 to 29 at Lakewood Retreat Center. It is going to be awesome in every way, especially if you come! Lots of great things to do at camp including some of the things that make every camp great! Things like: Great worship times, Bible teaching, campfires, hayrides, and all kinds of sports. Plus swimming, archery, crafts, human foosball and more! This years theme is RUN THE RACE and we are going to have some new things plus all the other great things we normally do at Cross Street Youth Camp! Come ready to grow closer to God! Odyssey Teen Camp get together in Central Park, Sunday, December 4th from about 12:00-3:00! .... This feels like a really good time to connect with old and new friends and just be together for a few hours. I know many of you live too far to get to NYC for a few hours, but you will be there in spirit. We are going to meet in Central Park at a place called Arthur Ross Pinetum. It's kind of a playground, and small field, that is fenced. It's on the West side of the Park, near 84th Street and Central Park West. It will probably be chilly, so dress nice and warm. It won't be a big deal, we will hang out , eat donuts and pizza, and other healthy food options. I may have new long sleeved t-shirts to give you if your willing to do a little social media marketing for camp. Feel free to bring along any friends. Mountain Biking Adventure 101 - Greensboro Day School
MOUNTAIN BIKING 101 $250 Grades 6+ June 13-17 8:30AM-2:00PM Did you know that within a half mile of the Greensboro Day School campus is access to over 35 miles of the best municipal mountain bike trails in North Carolina!?! Looking to build on a successful first year at the 2015 GDS summer camp , we are back for even more fun for 2016 with two sessions available! [MTB 101 June 13-17 and MTB 201 July 25-29] For a full week, your child will get the opportunity to safely explore our amazing local Greensboro mountain bike trails while also learning basic mountain bike repair and maintenance. Instruction will be provided from highly experienced local bike shop mechanics combined with skills instruction and guided rides from certified International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) guides. This camp will split time between instruction, skills sessions and most importantly bike riding! All your child needs is a bike in good working condition with knobby tires and a helmet. At Cool Creations, each week of camp is dedicated to a different STEM project that is both fun and engaging. Campers explore and tackle a variety of situations and use their math and general problem-solving skills to address them. Through projects like designing a playground, rocket building, crafting video games and programming their own robots, students will experience what it would be like to be an architect, aerospace engineer, industrial engineer, and video game programmer. Every day campers also have ample opportunity to do the things that are typically done in a summer camp such as swimming, field trips, sports, games and other fun physical activities.
