Instructor: Village Center for the Arts () Room: A-2 Learn to draw all your favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away. Create your own Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Yoda and more, even X-Wings and Tie Fighters! Each class focuses on one or two characters, starting with basic shapes and stick figures, and working our way up to a complete, colored drawing each week. Pre-teen Improv Summer Camp (Session 3) - Norfolk, VA
This camp is open to children ages 7 to 12. Students will explore the key elements of both long and short form improvisation. The children will play numerous improv games which will serve to develop and enhance their public-speaking, social, and team-building skills. This camp will be conducted in a non-judgmental environment where the students will build confidence, make friends, and most importantly… have fun. Snacks will be provided on a daily basis and there will be a pizza-party for lunch on Friday. The camp concludes on Saturday with all students performing in a graduation show on the stage of the Push Comedy Theater. Each student will receive a Push Comedy Theater T-shirt and be eligible to perform in the 5th Annual Norfolk Comedy Festival in late September 2016. We will have 3 sessions throughout the summer. Session1: July 11th - 15th, 9:30am to noon Session 2: August 1st - 5th, 9:30 to noon Session 3: August 22nd - 26th, 9:30 to noon These are all beginner level sessions, no experience is necessary. Tution is $200 for new students (includes a t-shirt), $190 for returning students.

Crabtree will be joined by more than 20 other NFL players. WHAT: The mini-camp is designed to help participants develop and improve their football skills, sportsmanship and teamwork, while building confidence both on-and-off the field. Campers of all levels will be coached by the pros, college stars and football coaches from the area. Instruction will focus on the team concept of football and fundamental skills. We will stay at Gilmore Camp, in Malibu Creek State Park. This camp is a part of the Salvation's Army Mt. Crags & Gilmore Camp & Conference Center in Calabasas http://campmtcrags.com. Located in the heart of Malibu Canyon, this camp provides life changing experiences with various activities on site in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains. Programmable Speed Bots - Wow Science - Voorhees
Using iOS and Android devices, campers will program a robot to do many tricks, including pulling off ollies--a trick where a skateboarder or snowboarder can jump into the air without ramping off something else. This robot can pull off ollies, do a quick spin in place, speed boost while driving (called grabs), jump around like a hot potato, pull off wheelies, or rocket across the room and turn on a dime before zipping off in a new direction. All this as campers have fun mastering basic concepts of programming. Bring your cell phone if you have one. NOTE: THIS PROGRAM RUNS MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY FOR A HALF DAY.
