This camp is for registered incoming Mater Dei freshman. The purpose of this camp is to prepare the freshman team both physically and mentally for rigors of Monarch Football. Both Players AND parents are expected to attend freshman orientation on Monday, June 13 from 6pm-8pm. Creative projects are planned so students may explore various art techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, paper mache, ceramics and much more! There will also be daily outdoor play and a snack provided mid-morning. Children will also be able to tour and get inspiration from the phenomenal Lowe Art Museum. Camp Carlyle: Session III - Carlyle House Historic Park
Camp Carlyle at Carlyle House Historic Park, in Old Town Alexandria, encourages children to explore history through challenging, engaging, and fun activities. We highly value and encourage inclusion of all campers in all activities. Campers will have the opportunity to learn about 18th century games, clothing, schooling, culinary techniques, trade and money, and city life. Campers will also have opportunities to take offsite field trips to other historic sites in Old Town Alexandria that include the George Washington Masonic Memorial, Alexandria Archaeology Museum, Gadsbys Tavern Museum and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum. The final day of camp includes an all-day offsite field trip to a historic site or museum. Kids and digital cameras in nature – a recipe for fun and stunning images! Campers will capture their unique perspectives of the natural world on their daily adventures in the mountains. On Thursday, campers will have time to select, edit and crop a photo for a Friday art show and celebration!
