Summer Youth Art Camp: Grade 1 Summer art camp is the perfect retreat for the young artist. A faculty of professional artists and art educators provide hands-on activities that expose students to a variety of artistic styles and art processes. Campers rotate by age group to different studio classes for drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. Daily enrichment activities may include entertainment, movement/dance, presentations and games that explore different cultures and forms of art. Parents are asked to provide a daily lunch, snacks and beverage for their children. A reception and art exhibition is held on the last Friday of camp. Family and friends are invited to attend. *Register your child for the grade they will enter in Fall 2016. I have sent my kids there for three years now, and I do not regret a single penny spent! They have great facilities, great trips and now that my kids are older (11 and 13) they have fun overnights! My oldest boy is now talking about how excited he is to get a summer job at this camp when he turns 14 and be like the great counselors he has had. Kid's Camp is from 9am-11am for players ages 7-15. Cost is $20 to participate and also includes an event t-shirt and a hotdog and a water. Bring your glove!!! Registration is open! Forms will be available in the Evart Middle School office. The Home Run Derby will begin at noon! Contact your favorite Varsity player to purchase a baseball. Journey to the Jungle is a week long camp that explores the classic story The Jungle Book! Our students of all ages will learn songs that take us on a journey through the jungle with Mogli and Baloo and the classic characters. This camp will integrate classic and contemporary scenes, songs, dances both from from the movie and beyond into our own version of The Jungle Book! In visual arts, they will explore sets, costumes, and prop elements this engaging tale of growing up and friendship! Camp will end in an informal presentation to showcase the fun had camp! Armed with the power of magic you can do anything! Take a ride on a dragon and imagine you have magical powers. Build your own magic wand, compile a spell book and mix potions, all within the walls of our magical school of art. Exploring clay, drawing, painting, 3D construction and more, participants will complete an assortment of individual and group projects in each weeks theme, culminating in a showcase at the end of each camp, followed by the unveiling of an installation at our 9th annual Fall Out of Summer Arts Festival in September. 401-490-9475
