This camp is an introduction to musicals that allows campers to experience what its like to tell a story through music. We will tell stories through original songs based on common fairytales with each child getting an opportunity to have lines, sing, and dance. Campers will play fun theatre games that will help them get more comfortable in social situations through using their imagination and creativity. These young performers will get the unique experience of being able to perform on a stage. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home. In this class you are introduced to all the fundamental skills of improvising, while improving your ability to listen and explore the power of building off of other peoples ideas. Level 1 is a survey of the entire program, exposing you to the elements of scene work and the various skills involved in creating well-acted, comedic improvisation. Passing Criteria: Students must demonstrate that their listening has improved over the course of the term and that they are willing to build off of their partners ideas, in addition to having gained some proficiency with the technical aspects of actually doing so on stage. The Longhorns Tennis Camp will be conducted on The University of Texas campus in Austin by carefully selected instructors who are experienced at working with young players. These instructors include college coaches, high school coaches and collegiate players. Longhorns Tennis Camp is open to girls and boys, ages 9 and above, of all ability levels. Campers will be housed in Castillian, a privately owned highrise dormitory near campus. Each room has a private bath and refrigerator. Experienced, mature male and female staff provide 24-hour supervision. All employees have passed a criminal background check as well as a child protection training conducted by The University of Texas Human Resources Department. This program is designed to teach the basics of windsurfing including, proper stance, self-rescue, tacking and gybing as well as some basic sail theory. The Baker University Soccer Programs and BCRC will host the Baker University Premier Soccer Camp this June 25-27 at the Baldwin City campus this summer for ages 10-18 for both boys and girls. The camp will be under the direction of Nate Houser, Baker University Director of Soccer; Davy Phillips, Head Coach of Baker University Womens Soccer Team and Matt Trumpp, former Baker University All-American and Sporting KC Academy Head Coach. The overnight camp will run from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. each day with breakfast, lunch and dinner mixed in with technical sessions, tactical sessions, video/pool sessions, and evening games.
