This Spring the Vermont People’s Convention will bring hundreds of people together as a critical step in building a unified movement for healthy communities and a just society. On April 30 & May 1st at Montpelier High School, individuals and organizations working for disability rights, racial justice, immigrant rights, climate justice and labor unions will come together for a weekend to share, learn and take action together. The organizers of the convention are working hard to make this an intergenerational event with a parallel Youth Activism Summit for teens, and a Kid’s Camp for children 12 and under. To make lasting and far reaching change we need the participation of Grandparents, Parents and their Children! Our little gardeners will be preparing, planting, and tending to a mini garden. We will do a nature art project each day. We will enjoy a snack of garden vegetables. Well discuss the importance of bugs in our gardens. Children should wear gardening clothes and be ready for the dirt! 206-957-1533

Care for goats, chickens, and ducks at the Franciscan Sisters home at Bridal Veil in the Gorge. Visit and tour other nearby farms to observe a wider range of animals and crops. 503-760-8220 x253

Awesome Artist Campers will explore every medium, create art and be inspired by artists new and old, the masters and the contemporary. If you learn from the best, you too can become an Awesome Artist! Exploring clay, drawing, painting, 3D construction and more, participants will complete an assortment of individual and group projects in each weeks theme, culminating in a showcase at the end of each camp, followed by the unveiling of an installation at our 9th annual Fall Out of Summer Arts Festival in September. 401-490-9475
