Bring bedding, clothes (including swimsuit and jacket), towel, toiletries, bug repellant, sunscreen, your instrument, and music stand. Costumes may be useful, as well as other fun things for the pool and ceilidh as long as they are safe and legal. Theme: Celtic Luau? Wonders Science camps are hands-on fun from beginning to end! Participants will experiment with 50 hands-on projects throughout the week, including: riding hover-crafts, creating invisible inks, growing crystal gardens, steering 60-foot solar blimps, making rock board collections, floating hot air balloons, launching giant smoke rings, setting-off the ultimate Mentos geyser, building lava lamps, making glow-in-the-dark signs, casting fossils, and much more! The half day camp is designed for the younger players. It is open to any and all boys and girls ages 4-6. Each player will receive an official Rice Soccer Ball and an official Rice Soccer Camp T-shirt at the end of the week. Campers will begin each day with dynamic warm up exercises to loosen up and get ready for the day. This will be followed by the technical portion of the session, focusing on ball control, passing and shooting. The day will conclude with small sided fun games where campers will have the opportunity to utilize skills learned earlier in the day. Rolling enrollment continues based on availability Outdoor classrooms naturally create endless learning opportunities for our children to nurture their own curiosity, perhaps by following animal tracks and sign, making wild crafts with leaves and treasures found on the forest floor, or using fallen logs as balance beams. Adult mentors assist in the learning, rather than lead the teachings. This is different from a "nature preschool," which infuses lessons with nature-inspired themes and balances indoor time with outdoor time, as we will be outside the ENTIRE time in all but extreme weather conditions.
